As a Platform Engineer at KiotViet your goal is to create the best possible developer experience for our production environment. You, together with other members of the Platform team, will play an instrumental part in building interfaces for self-service, maintaining infrastructure and designing pipelines for our developers; creating a robust, secure, resilient, and observable infrastructure for our Product teams to build products on as well as provide all the needed tooling for them to be productive on the Platform to make our services easy to use, resilient, and scalable
RESPONSIBILITY
- Design, build, test, and maintain platforms, tools and infrastructure that increase the speed, efficiency and stability of Citigo's services, and provide feedback to other team members.
- Plan/design/lead efforts related to automation and tooling, scaling and overall site reliability to enable autonomy and ensure safety. Confident in presenting plans and designs to the wider architectural community and defending recommended approaches.
- Evaluating and working with various services within cloud and on-premise platforms, developing and deploying services via infrastructure-as-code and using GitOps and DevSecOps practices where it makes sense. You will take part in the future of KiotViet and work with a wide range of strategic and high-impact topics - from CI/CD to high-availability databases, from infrastructure and networking to messaging brokers and key-value stores.
- Drive ongoing performance enhancement across all areas of our cloud and On-Premise platform; networking, observability, CI/CD, access, security, and cost.
- Triage and troubleshoot complex issues in multiple software environments such as AWS, GCP, Windows/Linux and VMWare.
- Setup and partner with Data Center and Program teams on VMWare infrastructure.
- Ensure platforms are effectively monitored and meet availability SLAs - Resolve platform issues and implement change management processes
- Provide standards, processes, and oversight of platforms and associated services Recommend process improvements, and identify optimization opportunities
- Work with teams managing infrastructure, networking, and application development to forecast capacity, scaling and demand
- Bridge the hardware-software divide by creating infrastructure as code (IaC) which can run on metal, in the cloud, or in a containerized environment; all of which make possible the implementation of Edge and cloud-based application deployment, reliability, resiliency, and observability.
- Draft workflows, requirements and technical specification documents for application software;
- Create platform documentation and help establish processes for monitoring, deployment, etc.
- Work with the development and algorithm teams to understand platform requirements and translate them into an effective technical solution.
- Assess current system architecture and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Ensure that the KiotViet platform remains cost-efficient at scale.
- Manage external development resources, when required.
- Explore new ideas and emerging technologies, develop prototypes quickly.
- Develop frameworks for standardizing and enabling data flows via APIs, files, microservices, and message queues.
- Monitor performance and determine improvement areas by developing key performance indicators for critical department metrics;
- As part of the platform engineering team, you will work closely with fellow cloud engineers, software engineers, security engineers, and product owners to understand their needs and optimize their productivity. Key tools and concepts in this space are: Visual Studio, Docker, WSL, Azure DevOps, Git, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Orchestration, Service Mesh, Ingress & Egress, Service Bus, Message Queues.
- Work with internal technical teams to identify and build and integrate platform elements required to support key mobile product features.
- Through good communication, you will teach other developers what tools are available to them and how they can use them to propel our tech stack to a more scalable and sustainable future.
- Mentor and collaborate with engineers to deepen our expertise in the DevOps/SRE domain.
- Work closely with program developers and engineers to transition from the.NET framework to the.NET core.
- Curate and/or review documentation for new and existing processes for communication and consistency purposes (instructions, flow diagrams)
