Production Supervisor

Role overview:
The Production Supervisor manages the day to day running of the factory, through leading the operators on the line to complete the production plan, on time and in full to our customer's expectations.
The Production Supervisor must ensure that all of our team, contractors and agency staff are working in a safe manner and any hazards are reported and resolved.
This is a key role to ensure quality is being met to the highest standard and this will involve ensuring the labelling, weighing & packing is completed correctly as well as ensuring all hygiene tasks are completed in a timely manner.
• Leading a team of operators to achieve the daily production plan safely, to the correct quality and on time and in full.
• Conduct daily site safety & quality walks with a member of the management team.
• Participating in daily production meetings to and take an active role in fault finding and site efficiency improvement.
• Performance management of all shift staff on a daily basis & identify and allocate tasks to staff throughout shift as required. Ensuring breaks are taken in line with the company rules.
• From time to time the supervisor may have to cover operational tasks on the production line due to employee sickness and/or other absence.
• Use the ESA Weight Manager to effectively book in stock and book out finished goods as well as completing other tasks.
• Ensure the correct product bags are used per production run and the correct labels are printed for use in packing.
• Ensuring and signing off that Lock Out and Tag Out procedures have been followed and write Permits to Work for some production or hygiene related tasks.
• Signing off on pre- production checks, cleaning & hygiene schedules, operator asset care checks, to help meet the requirements of internal and external audits.
• Working with the Engineering & Compliance Manager, the Production Supervisor should contribute towards the creation and review of site risk assessments and safe working procedures.
• Capture performance data and log in the agreed format/ timescale.
• Assist in the completion of stock takes and investigation of variances.
• Support the site HACCP process monitor any Critical Control Points or Operational Control Points.
