• Reports directly to the Plant Manager regarding implementation, monitoring, and control of production activities at various fabrication stages of their concern.
• Assign jobs & set priorities, review and approve time and attendance, conduct performance appraisals, recommend disciplinary actions including termination, recommend rewards, promotions & transfer, recommend and manage employees' training/cross training, enforce company policies & procedures, promote safety, enforce safe working practices, approved employee leave applications and approved
purchasing requisitions (when necessary) and approved employees leave (when necessary).
• Manage the day-to-day production activities of the concerned fabrication areas, to produce products as per the work instructions, quality requirements, and delivery commitments.
• Schedule employee and production shifts, and review daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules with the Production Planning Supervisor.
• Assign daily jobs and set priorities based on daily commitments.
• Complete, review, and submit the required daily and weekly activity reports on time to the Plant Manager.
• Identify problem areas and concerns and develop appropriate strategies to address them.
• Submit monthly progress reports to the Plant Manager.
• Monitor periodic utilization reports of all critical machines.
• Responsible for maintaining the 5S practice on the shop floor.
• Ensuring that the fabricated products have their respective identifications.
• Conducting daily toolbox meetings with his team.
• Closely monitor and review quality non-conformity reports in their respective areas of concern.
• Identify and initiate actions to prevent the recurrence of nonconformities related to products or processes of their concern.
• Focus on defect prevention by initiating "KAIZEN" projects to make the process fail-safe.
• Maintain processes in compliance with ISO 9001 and other quality standards/systems, and requirements.
• Manage, participate, and adhere to conformance to workplace health, safety, and environment, and with the local governing policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Ensure safe working practices and daily housekeeping are being followed.
• Actively promote and enforce safety initiatives via regular safety and housekeeping safety talks and coordination with employees.
• Ensure all equipment, machines, vehicles, etc., are properly maintained to keep downtime to a minimum level.
• Select and maintain staffing based on production levels and standards.
• Motivate, guide, direct, and supervise employees in meeting production targets.
• Ensure effective and efficient utilization of the workforce.
• Develop and set KPIs and conduct a fair and effective appraisal of staff. Educate and assist subordinates in achieving targets.
• Approve employee leave application, review, recommend, and approve disciplinary actions, including terminations, rewards, promotions, and transfers.
• Manage employee orientation training and development as per HR & Admin Policies.
• Identify and recommend cost reduction, productivity, methods, layout, and technology improvement ideas and projects.
• Actively promote and lead the implementation of other lean manufacturing and strategic initiatives undertaken by the organization.
- Education:Engg. Degree or Equivalent is an advantage
- Experience:5 yers. In a similar role
- English: Intermediate
- Computer skill: word, excel, power point, CAD, 2D
Other:
- Must be familiar with several construction codes or Standards such as ASTM, AWS, EN Norms, ASME, etc.
- Profound experience in using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools.
