ABOUT THE JOB
We're seeking Senior DevOps/Site Reliability Engineers who have had a proven track record of running critical shared application platforms in a production cloud environment who will take a team-first approach and can act as a multiplier, making other engineers better at their craft.
You will be responsible for behaving in accordance with NAB's Code of Conduct and demonstrating the Enterprise Behaviours in all customers, community and employee interactions, protecting NAB information and information systems.
YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work in fortnightly iteration-based software development environment and required to attend Daily stand-ups, retros, planning, showcases and other Scrum activities;
- Provide support to customers of our services during business hours and in a rotating support roster due to the 24x7 nature of the services;
- Work on Change Requests, Incidents, Defects and Problem Records;
- Maintain software and infrastructure currency;
- Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems;
- Participate in Service Governance and Compliance activities;
- Complete mandatory trainings and keep your skills up to date based on project requirements and personal development;
- Establish Quarterly/Yearly professional development goals;
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software;
- Develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation to identify requirements & solutions;
- Write well designed & high-quality testable code;
- Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility;
- Integrate software components into fully functional platform;
- Apply pro-actively & perform hands-on design and implementation of best practice CI/CD;
- Coaching & mentoring of other Service Team members;
- Develop/contribute to software verification plans and quality assurance procedures;
- Document and maintain software functionality;
- Comply with project plans, industry standards and regulatory requirements;
- Work with Product Owners and Managers, Solution Designers, Tech Leads, Operations teams, Engineering Managers, Head of Technology, Release Train Engineers and Scrum Masters to determine software development requirements and Release priorities besides driving Operational efficiencies.
Your Skills and Experience
- 5+ years' extensive experience of DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer across all Phases of the software lifecycle;
- Experienced in AWS or Azure cloud technologies;
- Experience in building CI/CD pipeline automation, tooling (Github, Jenkins, Artifactory, and Docker) and Compliance as code;
- Have an in-depth understanding of microservice architecture, API management, and distributed systems concepts;
- Experience with cloud services is essential, in particular, our core AWS Technologies (EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, SQS, SNS, ...);
- Experience hands-on Infrastructure as Code abilities e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Python;
- Skills on AppDynamics, Splunk & OpenSearch or any kind of monitoring & observability tools;
- Linux/Unix Scripting experience, good database programming skills in JDBC, Hysterix, PostgreSQL or Oracle database;
- Ability to develop code and work with testers and developers;
- Experienced and highly capable in continually developing and balancing technical and soft skills with an understanding that making great software requires both problem identification and prevention;
- Strong communication, documentation, organization, and time management skills;
- Good English skills, both oral and written.
