Senior Front-End Developer React

Full-time, contract-based role 12 months, with a view to extending

We're looking for a Senior React Developer to join a front-end team in creating and maintaining a rebuild of a software platform end-to-end, using best-practice methodologies to exceed client and user expectations.

You will like to implement modern and complex designs, working closely with the UX and UI team to solve complex problems.. You will be able to translate design animations into beautiful, performant website animations.

You will have developed a high level of knowledge of best-in-class web-based experiences from design-driven, seamless solutions, AI-first development and how to get the best from AI tools, bringing technical optimisation, performance and page speed, allowing revenue to flow seamlessly.

You will work in small but perfectly formed pods to rapidly develop and deploy websites, manage code repositories, set up best practice deployments, and be familiar with hosting and domain configuration. And yes, you'll have developed a good level of business acumen and can keep your eye on a few plates as they spin, and still crack the odd joke along the way.

Major Accountabilities:

• Work collaboratively with the BA and delivery teams to be the advisor on technological approaches to maximise the company's opportunity to achieve their business objectives through innovative solution
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practices and share/transfer knowledge to the wider team
• Contribute technical expertise to business planning to enable and support business goals through strong project delivery
• Follow governance processes of direction and control, including business transformation programs, to ensure objectives are achieved and risks are managed appropriately
• Champion and enhance our development and information security practices
• Support your project web development team, both offshore and inhouse, to ensure that best-in-class development practises are adhered to

• Problem-solving: You have the capability to be on the front foot with "solutions" for yourself, your clients, and the team - with a positive approach and a sense of calm.
• Web Performance: Your background has given you a solid understanding of web performance techniques; you know how to use Google Lighthouse / Pagespeed Insights, you can optimise scripts, files, and images (using newer image formats such as WebP and SVG), and understand caching techniques to enhance performance. You have a good grasp of the DOM and how browsers load assets.
• Quality: It's in your DNA - you're accurate, and you love detail. You set priorities, especially time management and task scheduling, with an eye for quality delivery at every turn. You critically analyse your own work to solve any potential problems and pride yourself on not being a transaction person but a "project/customer expectation" person. You scrutinise your own work and can add fun to flat designs.
• All things Digital: You're curious and have a good understanding of digital technologies, as well as UX and project
