Senior Game Developer (Cocos2d-x/Cocos Creator)

I. KEY JOB DUTIES
​Plan and develop mobile game projects on the Cocos platform (Cocos2d-x or Cocos Creator).
​Meet with the design team to discuss game ideas and specifications, then implement new features based on the game design plans and give technical feedback.
​Work closely with Game Artists to bring art, Spine animations, and UI into the game efficiently.
​Define the technical strategy, architecture, and development pipeline for game projects.
​Write efficient, reusable, and reliable code (C++ for Cocos2d-x, TypeScript/JavaScript for Cocos Creator).
​Ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness on iOS and Android; find and fix bottlenecks, bugs, memory leaks, and code errors in a timely manner.
​Build and maintain native bridges (JNI for Android, Objective-C/C++ for iOS) and integrate third-party SDKs.
​Build game patches, hot updates, and live-update flows.
​Mentor junior developers and review code to keep engineering practices high.
​Write unit tests for critical game logic.
​Use AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and review their output critically.
II. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS / SKILLS / ABILITIES
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
​4+ years in mobile game development, including 3+ years of deep experience with Cocos (Cocos2d-x or Cocos Creator).
​Full-cycle experience shipping games to the App Store and Google Play.
​Proficiency in C++ (Cocos2d-x) or TypeScript/JavaScript (Cocos Creator).
​Solid knowledge of 2D rendering pipelines, textures, Spine animations, and GUI implementation.
​Optimization skills: memory management (including reference counting), memory-leak tracking, draw calls, and asset size.
​Experience building native bridges (JNI for Android, Objective-C/C++ for iOS).
​Proven experience integrating mobile SDKs (Ads, Analytics, IAP, Social Login).
​Familiarity with Git and build tools (CMake, Gradle, Xcode).
​Strong understanding of Scrum/Agile.
​Good English reading and writing for collaboration in an international environment.
​Strong critical thinking, architectural design, troubleshooting, and attention to detail.
​Ability to use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) effectively and to evaluate and adapt AI-generated solutions.
Nice to have
​Experience with hot update and live-update pipelines.
​Experience with automated testing and unit-test frameworks.
​Experience with SVN or Perforce.
​Experience mentoring junior developers and leading code reviews.
​Open-mindedness and a willingness to learn new technologies.
Familiarity with Unity or Unreal Engine is a plus.
