ROLE PURPOSE The Senior Officer - Dealing is responsible for the accurate and timely execution of trading orders across multiple asset classes as instructed by Fund Managers. The role ensures full compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures while supporting effective trade execution, post trade processing, and ongoing dealing desk administration..
1. Trade Execution
Execute buy and sell orders for listed equities, OTC stocks, corporate actions, equitization, and other equity-related transactions as instructed by Fund Managers.
Execute Fixed Income transactions including primary and secondary bonds, term deposits, repos, CDs, and structured FI products in accordance with approved mandates.
Ensure orders are properly raised, executed, and confirmed through approved trading systems.
2. Compliance & Risk Control
Ensure full compliance with internal policies, SSC regulations, and external regulatory requirements in all dealing activities.
Maintain proper audit trails and documentation for all executed trades.
Support Compliance and Risk teams in reviews, audits, and ad hoc inquiries relating to dealing activities.
3. Market Monitoring & Reporting
Monitor market movements, prices, yields, and liquidity conditions relevant to trading activities.
Prepare daily trading summaries, market reports, and fund dealing reports for Fund Managers, Investment Team, and management.
Provide ad hoc reports and data as required by internal stakeholders or regulators.
4. Stakeholder & Counterparty Management
Liaise closely with Fund Managers, Operations, Compliance & Risk, and regional teams to ensure smooth execution and settlement of trades.
Maintain effective working relationships with brokers, banks, and other counterparties.
Support periodic broker and bank counterparty reviews as required.
5. Team Support & Process Improvement
Act as a backup for other dealers and support team continuity when required.
Participate in system enhancements, workflow improvements, and automation initiatives related to dealing activities.
Support training and knowledge sharing within the Dealing team.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance, Banking, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
Securities Trading Certificate / Fund Management License (mandatory or obtained as required).
2. Experience
Minimum 4-6 years of relevant experience in dealing, trading operations, or front office investment support within an asset management company, securities firm, or bank.
Hands-on experience with equity and/or fixed income trading is required; exposure to multi asset portfolios is an advantage.
3. Knowledge & Skills
Strong understanding of financial markets, trading instruments, and settlement processes.
Solid knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to fund management and securities trading.
High attention to detail, strong risk awareness, and ability to work under time pressure.
Proficient in dealing systems and market platforms (e.g. Bloomberg, EMSX, Aladdin - where applicable).
Good communication and coordination skills; able to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
