Senior Project Development Specialist (Renewable Energy)

Purpose of this position:
Project Development position involves in the development phase and supporting Business Development Team in exploring of end-to-end project process for opportunities of investing renewable energy sector in Vietnam. This includes early-stage market analysis, project feasibility studies, partnership structuring (including M&A), and coordination until project readiness for execution. This position will support the Head of Division for overseeing both onsite and offsite project development teams, ensuring timely, compliant, and commercially viable delivery of power projects aligned with the company's strategic direction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Market Analysis & Investment Strategy:
- Analyze Vietnam's power sector policies, PDP8 roadmap, and renewable energy trends.
- Identify investment opportunities (greenfield, M&A, joint ventures).
2. Project Feasibility & Pre-Investment Development:
- Support the preparations of pre-F/S and F/S studies, site reviews, and risk assessments.
- Coordinate with other project stakeholders, departments, partners for development of financial models and scenario analysis (with Commercial/Technical terms & conditions).
- Perform preliminary commercial evaluations of renewable energy projects, including revenue assumptions, tariff mechanisms, operating costs, and investment returns.
- Support budget estimation, financial due diligence, and investment analysis during project development stages.
- Coordinate with technical, legal, and finance teams to collect and validate project assumptions used in feasibility studies.
3. Partnerships, Deal Structuring & M&A:
- Coordinate and support the Head of Division in terms of getting project development agreements (PDA), MOUs, NDAs, and JV contracts.
- Support due diligence processes for M&A, investment, or co-development opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation of investment proposals, management papers, and approval documents for internal decision-making processes.
4. Other tasks and assignments:
- Will be assigned the new tasks with different functions & responsibilities by the Head of BD Division
- Supervise stakeholder engagement at central and provincial levels.
- Ensure consistent progress tracking, reporting, and risk management.
