We are looking for a talent who is suitable for the position of Senior R&D Specialist (Household plastic product) with the following criteria & work:
Market & product research: Study competitor products, new trends, customer requirements, price positioning, materials, functions, colors, sizes, and new product opportunities.
Product concept & development: Develop product concepts, specifications, dimensions, capacity, weight, functionality, appearance, and target cost.
Material selection: Select suitable materials such as PP, Tritan, PET, ABS, SAN, silicone, TPE, etc., considering food-contact requirements, durability, transparency, temperature resistance, and cost.
Product design: Work on 2D/3D drawings, product structure, wall thickness, ribs, locking systems, threads, hinges, sealing areas, and assembly design.
Accessories development: Define and develop lids, silicone seals, straws, handles, locking parts, brushes, strap, and other accessories. For your water bottle project, this is particularly important.
Injection molding trials: work with engineering establish initial molding parameters and solve problems such as warpage, shrinkage, sink marks, flash, short shots, weld lines, scratches, and dimensional variation.
Testing & validation: Conduct leakage, drop, impact, temperature, dishwasher, opening/closing cycle, dimensional and functional testing according to the product requirement.
Compliance & food safety: Coordinate food-contact testing and relevant standards/certifications for the target markets.
Packaging development: Work with Marketing/
Purchasing on individual packaging, labels, barcode locations, instruction sheets, master cartons, carton quantities, and transportation protection.
BOM & costing: Prepare and maintain BOM, material consumption, product weight, cycle time assumptions, component costs, packaging costs, and support target-cost calculations.
Sample approval: Control prototype, color sample, masterbatch/color approval, golden sample and final pre-production sample.
Mass-production handover: Transfer all approved specifications, drawings, BOM, quality standards, samples and process requirements to Production and QA/QC.
Continuous improvement: After launch, work with Production, Quality, Sales and Marketing to improve quality, reduce weight/cost, shorten cycle time and resolve customer complaints.
Bachelor's Degree or higher in a relevant field.
5-7 years of experience in the household plastic products industry.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to read and understand technical documents in English is an advantage.
Detail-oriented, proactive, responsible, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
