Software Developer C#/.NET/SQL - Advanced Query Tool

We are a New Zealand-based software company with a growing presence in Vietnam.

You will join as the first developer in Vietnam dedicated to AQT (Advanced Query Tool), collaborating closely with our NZ-based team. You will work alongside members of our team from our sister company, Trail.

The Role

We are seeking a software developer to join our team full-time. You will be employed in Vietnam and work closely with our product and engineering leads based in New Zealand.

You'll be helping us modernize AQT by migrating from VB.NET to C#, updating the UI, and adding features that improve the experience for technical users.

If you join us, you will be:

1. Contributing to the migration of our legacy desktop application from VB.NET to modern C#
2. Enhancing features used by power users daily including query editing, schema browsing, and data tool
3. Updating and improving our user interface using modern front-end technologies
4. Building new, exciting features that make the product even more valuable to our customers

We're looking for a developer who is confident in the Microsoft stack and has a good grasp of SQL. You'll be comfortable working independently, communicating asynchronously, and contributing to a technically sophisticated product.

Must-haves:

• Experience in C# / .NET, preferably with desktop application development
• Solid SQL skills
• Experience with Git and modern development workflows
• Clear written communication in English
• Be a self-starter, able to take the initiative and work on valuable tasks autonomously

Nice-to-haves (not required):

• Experience with desktop application UI frameworks.
• Experience with full-stack web development.
• Experience with database administration tools.
• Exposure to AI tools or APIs, such as OpenAI
• Experience working in a remote team
