Company Description Deviation Lab helps teams predict social trends before they become widely recognized, providing early insight into emerging ideas and behaviors online. The company analyzes how formats, creators, products, and narratives spread across social platforms, focusing on early propagation signals such as creator adoption velocity, remix behavior, cross-community spread, audience sentiment, search lift, and commercial intent. This intelligence helps organizations distinguish genuine momentum from noise and make better decisions.
Deviation
Lab's work informs content strategy, market research, creator discovery, product direction, campaign planning, competitive intelligence, and cultural analysis. The team is building an early-warning system for social trends, culture, and emerging demand.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Software Engineer role based in the Hanoi Capital Region.
The Software
Engineer will design, build, and maintain back-end services and data processing pipelines that power social trend analysis and intelligence products.
Responsibilities include implementing scalable APIs, integrating data from multiple social platforms, optimizing system performance, and ensuring reliability and security of production systems. The role involves collaborating closely with data scientists, product managers, and other engineers to translate analytical models and product requirements into robust, maintainable software.
The Software
Engineer will also contribute to code reviews, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement of the engineering stack and development practices.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software architecture.
Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, Go, or [protected info]).
Experience with Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and database integration.
Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases, data pipelines, and cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Comfort working with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
Ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code; experience with automated testing and CI/CD is beneficial.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on reliability and performance.
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience working with social media data, data analytics, or high-throughput distributed systems is a plus.
