YOU
You want to be an important member of a strong team of other makers who take pride in their work and support each other. The Structural Designer is responsible for providing accurate and code-compliant structural design solutions based on construction documents and customer standards. The role supports project execution by optimizing material usage, ensuring manufacturability, and delivering high-quality design packages that meet or exceed customer expectations and project schedules.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Service Providing
Interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to produce accurate component layouts and designs.
Use specialized design software (e.g., CS Truss Studio, Cornerstone, Vertex, CAD tools) to develop design models, layout plans, and engineering calculations.
Deliver assigned design tasks within agreed timelines with guidance.
Ensure design solutions are practical, buildable, and aligned with project needs.
Ensure all design outputs comply with applicable building codes (IBC/IRC), engineering standards, and load requirements.
Update designs based on revision instructions provided by senior team members.
Quality Compliance
Perform self-checks on assigned designs to ensure basic accuracy and completeness.
Follow established quality standards and checklists.
Correct identified errors promptly based on feedback.
Collaboration
Communicate clearly with team members to clarify assigned tasks and revisions.
Escalate design questions or uncertainties appropriately.
Follow established communication protocols.
Learning & Development
Complete all mandatory trainings as scheduled by the company.
Learn and apply component design standards, tools, and processes.
Participate in training and knowledge-sharing activities.
Others
Other tasks as assigned by Line Manager.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree with major in Civil Engineering or in other relevant majors related to Construction.
Welcome fresher/entry/ non-experienced level. But more than 1 year of experience, especially in wood truss design, is an asset.
English proficiency equivalent to Level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Demonstrated proficiency in Windows-based computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD.
Knowledge of wood truss design software, such as MiTek and ITW, is preferred.
Comprehend construction documents, including architectural and engineering drawings.
Ability to work independently as well as be a team player.
Ability to respect tight deadlines and work under pressure.
Good organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail, are highly required.
