Risk and Compliance is a global function that brings together all aspects of regulatory and financial crime risk management. Acting as risk stewards, and incorporating a range of specialist teams, we work together with the business and leverage advanced technology to help HSBC navigate a complex regulatory landscape and embed a sustainable approach to compliance risk management that supports safe growth and ensures fair outcomes for clients. Compliance aspires to continuously raise the bar and set leading standards across the industry to help HSBC safeguard its customers and the communities within which it operates.
Principal Accountabilities:
Direct and support Vietnam on their Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and act as a key contact and escalation for senior stakeholder engagement throughout Vietnam, making sure delivery is consistent and of high quality.
Provide operational risk oversight and robust and timely Risk Steward challenge of the First Line of Defence (1LOD) view of the Resilience Risk profile as required, especially covering Technology and Cyber Security (TCS), Data Risk and Third Party Risk.
Ensure that risk appetite measures align to the strategic business outlook.
Apply risk stewardship review and challenge over Resilience Risk RCAs and control environment.
Provide risk stewardship and second line oversight of new regulatory developments, internal controls, and top and emerging risks, to ensure Vietnam can mitigate these timely and cost effectively.
Act as key contact point of HBVN for interacting with regulators (e.g. State Bank of Vietnam, Ministry of Public Security) and industry bodies on Resilience Risk matters.
Conduct thematic reviews across Vietnam to ensure that risk and control environment is commensurate with the scale and nature of operations.
Support the implementation and embedding of the HSBC Risk Management Framework (RMF), the ERM functional strategy and working effectively with Regional ERM Risk teams.
Work closely with Strategic Change Oversight to risk assess and oversight material change programmes to embed appropriate operational resilience from the outset.
Lead the coordination of the Vietnam Market Risk Culture Plan. This includes working closely with senior management to ensure a strong risk management culture and behaviour are effectively embedded across all levels in Vietnam.
Be an active member of the HSBC Vietnam Risk & Compliance top team, to ensure best practice sharing between team, find opportunities for collaboration and streamlining, and contribute to people and development initiatives.
Yêu cầu
Strong level of business management knowledge and experience of working in a senior role.
Strong level of risk management knowledge and relevant experience in at least one of the underlying resilience risk disciplines.
Strong communication skills to challenge as appropriate and provide expert guidance to the line of business.
Experience in working with auditors, regulators and compliance.
Comprehensive knowledge of the external environment (risk, regulatory, geopolitical, competitor etc.).
Experience with team management or mentoring of junior team members.
Ability to challenge the status constructively and positively, leading relevant strategies/initiatives that enable safe growth of HSBC.
Fluency in English and Vietnamese is required.
Experience of having worked within the second line of defence would be a distinct advantage.
A BA or BS University Degree, advanced degrees preferable.
