The opportunity is open for candidates with experience in managing electrical design, installation, and maintenance for solar rooftop projects. This role involves ensuring the efficient and safe operation of these projects and contributing to the advancement of renewable energy adoption.
Description
The successful candidate will report to the COO and take responsibilities for:
* Collaborate with engineering teams and other departments to design electrical systems for rooftop solar projects, focusing on the Northern region.
* Ensure adherence to local codes, regulations, and industry standards.
* Design and engineer commercial PV solar systems with capacities ranging from 100kW to 100MW.
* Contribute to or draft technical papers, and develop construction documents using AutoCAD and SketchUp.
* Develop specifications, gather data, and complete utility interconnection and building permit applications.
* Implement quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of workmanship.
* Promote and enforce safety protocols to safeguard personnel and equipment during installation and maintenance.
* Travel to project sites as required to collect site-specific data and conduct roof surveys using total stations and other professional land surveying equipment.
* Assess and analyze project sites with on-site data collection and network tools.
* Perform site-specific production analyses of PV arrays using models such as PVsyst.
Profile
The applicant should hold the following requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in
Electrical Engineering or a related field.
* Proven experience in designing and engineering electrical systems, especially for solar PV projects.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other relevant software for creating construction documents and technical drawings.
* Strong understanding of local electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards.
* Experience designing commercial PV solar systems ranging from 100kW to 100MW.
* Ability to contribute to or write technical papers and reports.
