Android Developer (Digital Banking Project)
Working Place: Hanoi/HCM
Role OverviewAs an Android Developer, you will join SmartOSC's digital banking team on banking digital transformation project - built on the Backbase platform and a microservices architecture - to design, build and maintain secure, high-performance mobile banking applications. Working within an Agile/Scrum team alongside product managers, backend and web developers, and QA engineers, you will translate business requirements into reliable Android features that meet banking industry standards for security, scalability and performance.
Key Deliverables & Responsibilities1. Mobile Application Development:
Design, build, test and deploy new and enhanced Android apps and services for digital banking.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and new features.
Optimize existing banking applications for performance and usability.
2. Security & Compliance:
Ensure applications meet security, scalability and performance requirements in compliance with banking industry standards.
Implement secure coding practices to protect sensitive banking data, adhering to compliance standards such as PCI DSS and GDPR.
Regularly update applications to address vulnerabilities and stay compliant with evolving banking regulations.
3. Testing & Quality Assurance:
Conduct thorough testing of Android applications to ensure functionality and stability across various devices and OS versions.
Collaborate with QA teams to identify and resolve application bugs and performance issues.
Debug and resolve complex technical issues to maintain application reliability.
4. Collaboration:
Work closely with Product Management to collaborate on new requirements, applications and features.
Work collaboratively with other Scrum team members (e.g. server-side and web developers) to effectively deliver mobile experiences.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
1-3 years of experience in Android development.
Strong Java and Kotlin skills (Kotlin preferred) with extensive knowledge of the Android SDK.
Proficient in application design patterns and architecture; familiar with Android Architecture Components and MVVM.
Basic knowledge of Android Jetpack components.
Strong in reactive programming (RxJava, RxKotlin, RxAndroid).
Good understanding of dependency injection.
Experience with the Backbase platform (Backbase Mobile SDK / Journeys) is highly preferred.
Understanding of microservices architecture and integrating mobile apps with RESTful APIs is preferred.
Solid understanding of good UI/UX practices and building high-performance mobile applications.
Able to work collaboratively within a Scrum team using an Agile delivery framework.
Experience with cross-platform frameworks (Flutter, Xamarin, etc.) is a plus.
Good teamwork skills and available to work onsite.
