Job Summary:
The Chemical Engineer is responsible for developing and optimizing lacquer formulations, supporting production, and handling color matching tasks, in close collaboration with global teams, especially in Germany and China.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Follow the implementation of company rules, production area regulations, and department-specific procedures
• Lead the development of new products from trial status to mass production including the evaluation and documentation of the product performance in respect of workability and conformity to OEM's specification
• Collaborate closely with local & international teams, including Design, Colourmatch, QA, Production, and Sales
• Provide technical support to Production, Sales, and Customers regarding product performance, materials, and application-related inquiries
• Support in setting up a test laboratory and the Colorrmatch area
• Research and evaluate new raw materials in both lab and production to support the continuous product improvement and/or the development completely of new formulations
• Introduce and integrate new raw materials into the existing portfolio
• Create new colour shades from existing formulations, optimise recipes, and support production in resolving lacquer or raw material-related issues
• Monitor market trends and emerging technologies relevant to product development
• Provide insight and recommendations to keep our product offerings competitive and innovative
• Other duties as assigned by management
Yêu cầu
Experience and Education:
• University degree in Chemistry
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar position
• Background in organic or polymer chemistry
• Strong English communication skills and willingness to work in an international team
• Prior experience in the coating or printing industry is an advantage
Skills and Abilities:
• Independent, target-oriented, and well-organized, with a high level of self-motivation
• Good knowledge of instrumental analytics, polymer and physical-chemistry
• Excellent analytical skills down to details, well-structured workstyle
• Ability to work under pressure and able to deal with conflicting parties/ interests
• Absolutely reliable, honest and keeping the technical know-how strictly confidential
• Good health, not color blind and not allergic with chemical working environment
• Willingness to occational business trips or customer visits
