Role Overview
The Chief Accountant is a key role responsible for managing our day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring full compliance with Vietnam's Law on Accounting. While operational in focus, this position carries the legal title and responsibilities of Chief Accountant, including statutory reporting, tax compliance, and financial record integrity.
This role requires strong attention to detail, deep knowledge of Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS), and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with management and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounting operations: Record, reconcile, and maintain all accounting transactions in compliance with VAS and company policies.
- Tax compliance: Prepare and submit VAT, PIT, CIT, and other statutory reports accurately and on time.
- Financial reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management review and external compliance.
- Payroll & statutory contributions: Calculate payroll, ensure correct social insurance, health insurance, and union contributions.
- Fixed assets management: Maintain accurate fixed asset registers and oversee depreciation schedules.
- Internal controls: Implement and maintain accounting procedures to ensure data integrity and prevent errors or fraud.
- Audit coordination: Work with internal and external auditors; prepare documentation for tax inspections.
- Procurement & payments: Verify payment requests, ensure compliance with contracts, and manage accounts payable/receivable.
- Advisory: Provide recommendations on financial processes, compliance matters, and cost optimization.
