Chief Accountant

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
• Manage all related Finance and Accounting processes in compliance with Vietnam Statutory and Regulatory requirement for VPM Head Quarter in Can tho.
• Provide support for VPM and VPM Br Management's decision-making process.
• Head Finance and Accounting function of headquarter in Can Tho, report daily to VPM General Director to review and act as final approval of all related finance and accounting documents for head quarter.
• Manage 9 Finance and Accounting professional who are JV employees.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Manage Finance and Accounting transactions that are recorded and reported in compliance with relevant P&P, Vietnam Accounting Standards and Regulatory requirements; ensure they are completed in accurate and timely manner.
• Ensure that all monthly, quarterly and annual Financial reports are prepared in accurate and timely manner.
• Ensure that key controls for Finance and Accounting are in place and effectively implemented in every single process to secure compliance with Vietnam Accounting Standard, Direct and Indirect tax Laws and Regulations.
• Review Finance and Accounting risks on a regular basis, including but not limited to testing of key controls, and address immediately any issue and or violation identified.
• Ensure that all local tax (tax returns, declarations, documentation or other filings) compliances is prepared, reviewed and filed on a timely basis in order to avoid penalties and interest for errors, under-declarations or delayed compliance.
• Ensure that adequate and appropriate records are maintained for tax record-keeping purposes and periodically reviewed.
• Review and challenge Finance and Accounting processes to identify areas for improvement, both from a quality, internal control and efficiency point of view, and recommend changes whenever deemed appropriate.
• Be the main responsible contact point to handle financial information/queries from internal/external auditor, tax authority and other Government bodies, or any financial/ accounting request from Vinataba.
• Manage Finance and Accounting Function in the affiliate, including leading and developing accountants, supervisors and analysts, ensure appropriate technical skill sets are in place.
• Coordinate appropriate training to develop technical skill sets, and ensure that appropriate resources are directed to achieve efficient and effective processes which are in compliance with Regulatory requirements.
• Assist VPM General Director in Finance and Accounting related matters, take the lead in preparing for Tax and Custom Audit by the government authorities. Work with Can Tho People Committee in addressing any queries they may have related to Finance and Accounting for the Factory.
• Manage and implement high impact as-hoc projects such as streamlining closing process, performing tax planning.
• Optimize and implement effectively finance and accounting practices in compliance with Vietnam Taxation, Custom Law and other Regulatory requirements.
• Act as Business partner between PMI and Vinataba for all Finance and Accounting, and other business-related matters.
• Assist MC in related matters.
• Perform other tasks as requested from time to time by VPM General Director and VPM Branch management.
