Export Distribution Centre (EDC) Material Data Specialist is responsible for understanding weekly shipment requirement from different countries in SAP system, work closely with Manufacturing planning team to ensure schedules are in place for manufacturing shops, co-ordinate with shops to pull parts on-time for consolidation and shipping. These positions reports to Export Distribution Centre Manager.
Position Context
Responsible for establishing process for development & daily monitoring of schedules from customer plants and HP Plant shops. Responsible for development and implementation of Material Flow Processes, Material Handling equipment, Layout, Facilities & Tooling, Intra Logistics set-up, PFEP, IT Infrastructure, SAP system setup etc. He/She must work closely with multiple departments like Manufacturing shops, Indirect Purchase, NPSU, SAP/IT, Packaging. This position reports to Export Distribution Centre Manager.
Position Responsibilities
• Manage day to day operations of understanding Customer requirements in SAP system and tracking the dispatch to customer requirement (either Sea or Air mode). Work with Global LOG for Container/Vessel/Air Space
• Develop Material Control processes for materials from shops to EDC on a daily/weekly basis
• Establish documented procedures on performance to plan/schedules for every shop / customer plants
• Develop and execute consolidation planning based on Material planning, execution and dispatch details for every customer
• Establish process and procedures for standard shipments (Sea) and emergency shipments (or) DG Cargo.
• Establish process for Intra-Logistics (shops to EDC)
• Work with SAP IT team to establish SAP modules for EDC. Ensure SAP system is updated for all Data points for Logistics Operations.
• Maintain /Control Inventory to ensure efficient Cross docking.
• Project feasibility studies & options (Global projects).
• Develop Consolidation Centre Capacity Study (Space).
• Develop and deploy consolidation strategy including Layout, Equipment, Intra-Logistics, SAP/IT Systems, Labor, OPEX Estimate/Budgetting, etc
• Develop and establish Process of handling Dangerous Goods, consolidation and shipping strategy.
• Work with IT to enable smooth Material Flow and install all IT infrastructure.
• Work with SAP IT team to establish SAP modules for EDC. Ensure SAP system is updated for all Data points for Logistics Operations.
• Maintain /Control Inventory and flow, to ensure efficient Cross docking of parts.
