Main Purpose of the Job:
The Construction Manager's responsibilities covers a broad spectrum covering all areas including: project planning, quality management, safety management, resource management, cost management, compliance with regulatory requirements for the successful delivery of the construction works.
Job Description (Key Responsibilities):
1. To be responsible for benefits management in related project
2. To be responsible for managing the delivery of all aspects of business case in related to the project
3. To lead and performance manage the project team
4. To deliver aspects of the vision in related project
5. To lead governing bodies/ groups related to project
6. To manage client & stakeholder relationships
7. Attend interviews and promotional events with prospective clients together with other senior members of the Company
8. Assist in the preparation of proposals and contract award for PM/CM projects
9. To report to senior client body and/or sponsor for related project and/or Associate and/or Partner
10. Act as Client Liaison especially with Vietnamese Client's to facilitate good communications, understanding and relationships
11. When not fully engaged as Construction Manager should act as QS Team leader with the QS Division of the Company
12. Preparation of project protocols such as the Health & Safety Plan, the Quality Plan, the Logistics Plan and Master Program
13. Oversee all onsite constructions to monitor compliance with Health & Safety
14. Review and comment on Contractor proposed method statements, site organisation and key personnel
15. Be instrumental in review and comment of Contractor's submittals such as material approval requests, , shop drawings, samples, as built drawings, method statements, O&M Manuals, RFI's and Technical Queries
16. Attend executive meetings, administer progress meetings, quality meetings and safety meetings, design coordination meetings with contractors and consultants
17. Be the point of contact and lead on behalf of the Company all matters relating to Authority inspections during and at the end of the construction works.
18. Ensure all documentation required for compliance with regulatory requirements is being produced in relation to the construction works.
19. Coordinate and direct construction contractors
20. Review the progress of the works on a daily basis. Review and monitor the contractors proposed construction equipment and manpower and advise of any shortage. Maintain the master program for the project, advise the SPM/PM of any foreseen slippage of the program and propose corrective actions.
21. Lead the Construction Supervision Team and ensure the implementation of field quality control procedures as well as safety and progress aspects.
22. Lead the Construction Supervision Team in final inspection of the work and prepare Punch List. This activity shall be fully coordinates with the Owner and any necessary authorities
23. Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to project status which may include, schedule, quality, safety and/or other issues as appropriate.
24. Liaise and provide support to the QS function in the role of Construction Manager in regard to assisting with defining scopes of work and assisting with preparation of tender enquiry documents, reviewing contractors tenders, confirming progress of works on site for interim valuation and any associated issued such as quality and safety violations, verifying the validity of VO's and their evaluation, assist during contractor close out and final account stage.
25. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
