Role Overview:
SmartLabs is the Innovation Hub of SmartOSC, with the mission is to transform ideas into scalable ventures by combining deep industry expertise, technology innovation, and investment capital. Through SmartLabs' Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) arm, we invest in and co-build businesses that create new growth engines for SmartOSC.
The CVC Analyst will play a key role in sourcing, evaluating, and supporting investment opportunities in startups and emerging technologies. You will combine financial analysis, market research, and strategic thinking to help SmartLabs make solid investment decisions while ensuring strategic alignment with SmartOSC's long-term goals.
1. RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Trend Research & Growth Opportunity Discovery
Analyze emerging trends in technology and industry shifts to uncover potential innovation opportunities.
Conduct market research to identify whitespace, unmet needs, and areas for value creation.
Propose strategic innovation themes aligned with SmartLabs' and SmartOSC's business goals.
2. Idea Scouting & Venture Pipeline
Collaborate with SmartOSC business units, SmartLabs teams, and employees to surface new venture ideas and innovation opportunities.
Evaluate and structure these ideas into early-stage business concepts.
Maintain a transparent funnel of internal innovation initiatives and potential investment cases.
3. Solution Development & Validation
Coordinate cross-functionally with product, delivery engineering, and business teams to facilitate the implementation of MVPs or proof-of-concepts (PoCs), ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and operational feasibility.
Define value propositions, key features, and success metrics for new ventures.
Test and iterate solutions through pilot programs and market feedback loops.
4. Business Case & Investment Support
Build business cases for new solutions, including market sizing, revenue models, and ROI analysis.
Support investment memos for internal and external ventures.
Track solution performance and refine growth strategies.
5. Ecosystem & Collaboration
Engage with startups, partners, and clients to explore co-development opportunities.
Support ecosystem activities such as demo days, workshops, and strategic partnerships.
Yêu cầu
2. REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Strategic Management, Economics, Innovation Management, or relevant major (with a strong interest in Strategy and Innovation).
2+ YOEs in Venture Capital, Investment Banking, Strategy Consulting, or relevant domain
Proven experience in trend analysis, market insight generation, and strategic planning focused on innovation-led growth.
Strong knowledge of innovation models (e.g., disruptive innovation, open innovation, lean innovation, innovation funnel) and strategic tools (e.g., Business Model Canvas, Trend Radar, Foresight Toolkit).
Prior experience in launching internal innovation initiatives, venture building, or running innovation labs is a strong plus.
Skills:
Strategic and analytical thinking with ability to turn complex information into actionable insights.
Cross-functional collaboration and influence without authority.
Professional English proficiency, especially in business, technology, and research contexts.
