Deputy Manager - Technical Development, Polyurethanes, Performance Materials

OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION
• Provides on time technical service, trouble shooting and new application & new product development for customers; Maintains internal technical documentaries and activities in good shape; Leads operation of local Footwear Technical Development team; Supports sales team to achieve target
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACTIVITIES
Technical Service
• Executes and ensures the success of trial (new product introduction) and troubleshooting
• Performs formulation modifications, evaluations and testing, based on customer needs
• Follows up development of applications and relevant processing technologies of the customers
• Provides necessary technical training/workshop/exchange with customers
Technical Knowhow
• Collects market information (competitors, customers, regulations, processing technologies & trends etc.). Documents, Communicates and proposes ideas for R&D (Research & Development) proposal
• Updates all opportunities in salesforce
• Documents all technical related activities (trial report/trouble shooting report/lab working report etc)
• Supports to build up regional technical capability and fosters expertise exchange between countries
Quality/Material/Product Analysis, Registration and Optimization
• Initiates new article registration in compliance with formulation change process and BOM (Bill of Material).
• Supports evaluation of alternative raw materials
• Creates related technical documents
• Supports root cause analysis of COPQ (Cost Of Poor Quality)
• Defines product specifications for product developments/ modifications
Compliance to EHS Requirements
• Ensures to comply with EHS (Environment, Health, Safety) requirements in laboratory & customer's site
• Be responsible for the cleanness and safety of laboratory and workshop areas.
Resources Planning and Management
• Coaches & drives local technical team in handing customer and processing related requests.
• Aligns the resources with local sales needs to achieve trial and troubleshooting requests timely.
• Oversees all opportunities and leads the team to analyse, identify, coordinate and development of applications and relevant processing technologies of the customers.
