The Job
As a DevOps Engineer, you will build and maintain a stable, scalable, and secure infrastructure environment that supports various web services and internal solutions across the Nexon Group. You will collaborate closely with backend, frontend, QA, and platform teams to ensure seamless development workflows, automated deployment pipelines, and reliable production operations.
This role focuses on creating and optimizing the development, staging, and production environments for web-based platforms, internal tool systems, and enterprise-level services used by Nexon Korea and its global subsidiaries. You will be responsible for improving CI/CD pipelines, implementing Infrastructure as Code, enhancing observability, and ensuring that services follow cloud and Kubernetes best practices.
Your Skills and Experience
Required Experience and Skills
Background
- Backend development experience preferred
- Understanding of application architecture, APIs, and databases
Containers and Orchestration
- Kubernetes:
Strong understanding of Pods, Services, Deployments, ConfigMaps, Secrets, scheduling, and cluster networking - Amazon EKS:
Familiarity with managed node groups, IRSA, and common EKS add-ons - Docker:
Ability to write optimized Dockerfiles using multi-stage builds and layer caching
Solid grasp of containerization best practices
Infrastructure as Code
- Terraform:
Understanding of resources, modules, state management, and relationships between infrastructure components
CI/CD
- GitLab CI:
Ability to build and maintain pipelines, with knowledge of stages, jobs, artifacts, and caching
Scripting
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Shell, Bash, or Go
- Ability to automate repetitive tasks effectively
Security
- AWS IAM:
Understanding of policies, roles, permissions, and least-privilege principles - EKS OIDC:
Familiarity with service account authentication - Knowledge of container security best practices
AWS Cloud Services
- Core Services: S3, EC2, ECR
- Application Services: SQS, CloudFront
- Networking: Basic knowledge of VPC, security groups, and subnets
Preferred Skills
- Experience with monitoring tools: Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch
- Understanding of logging and tracing concepts
- Knowledge of database operations including backup and restore
- Experience with additional AWS services such as RDS, ElastiCache, Lambda
- Knowledge of core Java or game development is a plus
