Elementary Head of Multilingual Teaching

Commencing August 1st, 2024, Hanoi International School seeks a qualified teacher as the Head of Multilingual Teaching to lead our Co-Teachers in English language Acquisition and Development.. The ideal candidate must hold an education qualification, and should have experience teaching the IB Primary Years Programme, with experience in WIDA testing and leading a dynamic multilingual department.
The Teacher's primary responsibility is Teaching and Assessment with a focus on the following:
● Embedding the IB Approaches To Teaching (ATT) into your practice, demonstrating inquiry-based, conceptually focused, contextualized, differentiated teaching informed by assessment;
● Planning lessons and units with the PYP Coordinator/ Assistant Principal and grade-level team to meet student's individual learning needs and to ensure student's progression ;
● Using a range of appropriate strategies for teaching and learning and classroom management;
● Using flexible groupings and structured inquiry to deliver high-quality lessons in line with the IBO philosophy;
● Maintaining a well-organized and stimulating learning environment;
● Using technology to enhance learning;
● Using information about prior attainment to set expectations for students;
● Using a range of assessment and reporting methods that show student's achievement toward learning outcomes;
● Providing clear and constructive feedback to students and their parents.

Communication
As a staff member at Hanoi International School, you are responsible to
● Demonstrate open communication with and between staff, students, and parents;
● Communicate with parents, ensuring that parents are kept adequately informed of student's progress (academic, social, and emotional);
● Provide written documentation to external agencies, such as service providers for families and students.

● Take responsibility for the safety and discipline of students in and out of the classroom;
● Take an active role in the Hanoi International School community;
● Cover additional teaching when required;
● Participate in the professional growth program, which encompasses teacher observation, appraisal, professional development, and professional goals;
● Participate in and lead committee work (IB and CIS) which contributes to achieving the school's strategic plan and mission;
● Perform any other reasonable duties requested by the Elementary Principal and Head of School.
● Participate in after-school activities (CCPs) and school trips (both day and overnight)
