MISSION: Make shoes affordable to the many. Your primary objective is to execute a radical cost-down re-design of Big Volume Models. You will be the bridge between creative intent and industrial reality, achieving a "visible cost win" that makes sports shoes accessible to the many, without compromising brand integrity, identity.
1. Redesign Execution:
Analyze current models to identify high-cost drivers in materials, labor, and overhead.
Re-design construction to simplify assembly steps and maximize feasibility of automation stitching / cutting.
2. Industrial Value Creation:
Collaborate with factory engineers to ensure design decisions are validated according to product briefs, target costs from Day 1.
Identify opportunities to use common components across all 3 models to leverage economies of scale in sourcing.
3. Material Consumption and Tooling Optimization:
Optimize nesting patterns and material selection to maximize usage and minimize material wastes.
Simplify complex upper constructions or tooling without compromising the brand aesthetic.
Deliverables and Impact:
Re-design Prototypes: Deliver 3 optimized models that meet the specific cost-reduction targets per model.
Technical Specs: Provide on-time full and detailed tech-packs and color-packs to the Engineering and Development team.
Samples: Review and co-validate the master samples with related Product Engineers.
Efficiency Audit: Analyze the "cost win" (e.g., $X$ reduction in COGS or $X\%$ improvement in material yield) to prove the ROI taskforce investment.
