Fresh Food Buyer

1. Purpose
The person will be responsible for the management of a specific category in Food. Based on the Procurement strategy defined by the Supply Chain Manager in South and the Vietnam Supply Chain Manager, the Senior Purchaser will optimize the purchases (Prices, quality, delivery time) with a focus on:
• Definition of specifications with internal Clients (Operations, Branch Managers)
• Sourcing & Selection of suppliers to generate savings
• Suppliers relationships Management
• Contract Management
• Suppliers evaluation
The main objective is to be an expert on the concerned category (products knowledge, market knowledge) in order to generate savings and in order to better serve the Business at the Vietnam level.
2. Essential responsibilities
4.1 - Business - Implementation of the Procurement Strategy
• Spends analysis to identify savings opportunities
- Category analysis (similar goods from different vendors)
- Item analysis (same items from different vendors)
- Vendors analysis (items per vendors)
- Needs definition with the internal Clients (Operations & Branch Managers) in order to understand the expected level of quality, the requested quantities ... There are 2 main objectives:
- Simplifying and standardizing specifications
- Reduce range & complexity (reduced number of items)
• Sourcing of Suppliers in Vietnam and outside Vietnam
• RFQ & negotiation
• Supplier selection: the selection will be based on different criteria (price, logistics, and quality). The Senior Purchaser will work closely with the Quality Assurance Manager in order to audit the suppliers
• Suppliers relationships management
- Strategic suppliers have to be considered as partner to get a greater value, to get innovative ideas from them, for risk mitigation and for high level of collaboration
- Good communication with them, understanding of their concern, involving them in our processes in advance (better efficiency)
• Contract Management: signature of contracts with our suppliers in order to reduce financial risks
• Performance evaluation: KPI setting up to monitor and control the performance + procurement actions supporting the final customer satisfaction.
KPI - Savings compared the previous years, contracts signed with strategic suppliers, reduction of the number of suppliers, reduction of the number of items
4.2 - Implementation of the Procurement Process (Sourcing & Selection of Suppliers)
The Senior Purchaser will have to be compliant with the defined process.
KPI - Use of the different documents defined in the Procurement process (Sourcing & Selection of Suppliers)
4.3 - Cooperation & strong relationships with other departments
• To report on daily basis to the Vietnam Categories Center Manager & collaborate with the Asean Supply Chain Manager
• To collaborate with BD (new opening, prospects) and Operations & Branch Managers which have to be considered as internal Clients
• To cooperate with the Assurance Quality Manager
• To cooperate and implement best quality services together with other ADEN internal Departments
