The Group Financial Controller is responsible for leading, managing, and controlling all financial accounting and reporting activities at the Group level, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) and International Accounting Standards / IFRS.
This role plays a critical part in strengthening financial governance, enhancing group-wide financial control, standardizing accounting practices across subsidiaries, and supporting executive management with high-quality financial insights for strategic decision-making.
1. Group Financial Planning & Budget Control
- Coordinate the development of group-wide financial plans, budgets, and forecasts
- Monitor and control budget execution across the Parent Company and subsidiaries
- Perform variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance drivers
- Ensure effective cost control, capital utilization, and resource allocation in line with group strategy
2. Group Accounting System & Control
- Establish, manage, and control a standardized accounting framework across the Group
- Standardize accounting policies, procedures, charts of accounts, and reporting templates
- Oversee financial accounting operations of subsidiaries
- Act as the key technical advisor, providing accounting guidance and support to subsidiary finance teams
3. Financial Reporting & Group Consolidation
- Prepare, review, and analyze:
+ Separate financial statements
+ Consolidated financial statements of the Group
Ensure full compliance with VAS and IFRS/IAS
- Enhance the quality and usefulness of management reports for the Executive Management
- Act as the main point of contact with external auditors for:
+ Quarterly reviews
+ Semi-annual reviews
+ Annual statutory audits
4. Compliance, Audit & Financial Risk Control
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations relating to:
+ Accounting
+ Taxation
+ Corporate finance
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and authorities during:
+ Tax inspections
+ State audits
+ Price or statistical inspections
+ Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and reporting risks at the Group level
5. Accounting Policies & IFRS Implementation
- Monitor regulatory changes and new accounting standards
- Lead the development, interpretation, and implementation of:
+ Accounting policies
+ Financial control frameworks
- Drive IFRS adoption or conversion initiatives where applicable
- Continuously improve accounting and reporting practices in line with international best practices
6. ERP & Finance Transformation
- Coordinate with relevant departments to design and implement finance and accounting modules within ERP systems across the Group
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and readiness for group consolidation
- Support financial system setup for newly established entities, acquisitions, or restructurings
7. Leadership & Team Development
- Manage and evaluate the performance of Group Finance Controllers /
Accounting Managers
- Coach, mentor, and develop finance teams across subsidiaries
- Build a strong, disciplined, and business-oriented finance organization
8. Strategic Advisory & Other Duties
- Act as a strategic finance partner to the Executive Director of Finance and senior management
- Provide financial advice on matters related to:
+ Investments
+ Capital structure
+ M&A activities
+ Business performance improvement
- Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and special reports as required
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Finance
1. Education & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Auditing
- Chief Accountant Certificate issued by the Ministry of Finance (mandatory)
- Professional certifications preferred: ACCA, CFA, CMA, CPA
2. Experience
- 9-12 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 3 years in a senior managerial role (e.g., Group Financial Controller, Financial Controller,
Finance Manager)
- Experience in large-scale organizations or group structures, preferably in: FMCG, Food & Beverage, Manufacturing or consumer-driven industries
- Strong hands-on experience in group consolidation and IFRS reporting
3. Professional Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth knowledge of: Vietnamese accounting and tax regulations VAS, IAS, and IFRS
- Strong understanding of group financial management and internal controls
- Solid financial analysis, leadership, and project management skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities
- Strategic mindset with strong problem-solving and influencing skills
4. Other Requirements
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
- Proficient in MS Office applications; ERP system experience preferred
- High ethical standards, integrity, and professionalism
- Strong compliance mindset and risk awareness
- Ability to thrive in a group environment and contribute proactively to corporate culture
