Role Purpose
The Head of Learning & Development is responsible for building a learning organization at Karofi by designing and implementing training and development initiatives to enhance workforce capability, productivity, and overall organizational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
A. Strategic Planning & Performance Management
• Develop the department's strategic objectives, Balanced Scorecard (BSC), and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Align training initiatives with business performance objectives, ensuring measurable impact on productivity and growth.
• Establish and manage the annual training budget to optimize resource utilization.
• Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on training effectiveness and impact.
B. Talent & Capability Development
• Develop and manage a competency framework for employee capability assessment and career progression.
• Conduct annual competency evaluations to identify skills gaps and formulate action plans.
• Design succession planning programs and individual development roadmaps to foster leadership pipelines.
• Implement learning culture initiatives such as corporate reading programs, knowledge-sharing sessions, and competitions.
C. Internal Trainer Development
• Develop and execute "Train the Trainer" programs to build an internal faculty of certified trainers.
• Ensure training effectiveness by equipping internal trainers with the necessary facilitation and coaching skills.
D. Learning Systems & Digital Transformation
• Oversee the effectiveness of E-learning platforms, ensuring continuous system improvements based on industry trends.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive repository of learning materials, including online and offline resources.
• Manage assessment tools, policies, and compliance frameworks related to training and development.
E. Learning & Development Team Management
• Lead, coach, and develop the L&D team, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
• Assign tasks, monitor progress, and evaluate employee performance to align with organizational goals.
• Collaborate with HR to plan workforce needs and recruit suitable talent for the L&D department.
F. Process Standardization & Governance
• Establish and oversee L&D policies, procedures, and governance frameworks to ensure consistency and compliance.
G. Employer Branding & Training Engagement
• Support Employer Branding initiatives by integrating learning and development into the company's value proposition.
• Develop quality management documents, policies, and training operational guidelines.
H. Team Structure & Reporting
• Direct reports: Training Leaders, Training Specialists, Sales Trainers.
• Reports to: Deputy HR Director.
Yêu cầu
A. Education & Certifications
• Bachelor's degree or higher (no specific major required).
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Train the Trainer, Learning & Development Certifications) are preferred.
B. Experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role within organizations with 500+ employees in retail, trade, or service industries.
• Proven track record in managing learning & development projects and organizational capability-building programs.
C. Knowledge & Skills
• Organizational & Talent Development: Expertise in employee development frameworks and competency models.
• Training Design & Delivery: Experience in instructional design and corporate training methodologies.
• Training Impact Analysis: Ability to measure and translate training effectiveness into business performance.
• Presentation & Facilitation: Strong communication and public speaking skills.
• Technology & Digital Learning: Knowledge of modern L&D technologies, including e-learning platforms and virtual training tools.
• Business Acumen: Strong understanding of corporate strategy and the ability to link L&D initiatives to business goals.
D. Technical & Soft Skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and training-related software.
• English language proficiency (preferred).
• Strong communication, teamwork, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and drive execution with a results-oriented mindset.
