A. CORE PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Head of Merchandise Planning will be responsible for developing, executing, and communicating strategic merchandise financial plans and strategies that support the company's overall objectives. This role involves overseeing the merchandise planning and inventory management teams, ensuring that product assortments reflect brand strategy, and achieving sales and profit objectives.
B. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Strategic Planning:
Develop and execute merchandise financial strategies that align with the company's goals.
Collaborate with buying teams to create a balanced assortment of merchandise which drives sales and profitability.
Analyze market trends and consumer insights to inform planning decisions.
Inventory Management:
Oversee inventory levels and ensure they are aligned with sales forecasts and budgets.
Implement inventory control measures to minimize stock outages and overstock situations.
Coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams to optimize inventory flow.
Financial Management:
Prepare and manage the open-to-buy (OTB) budget.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, margin, turnover, and sell-through.
Conduct regular financial reviews and provide actionable insights to improve performance.
Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and develop the merchandise planning and inventory management teams.
Foster a collaborative and results-driven environment.
Ensure team members are trained and equipped to perform their roles effectively.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with merchandising, marketing, and sales departments to ensure a cohesive product strategy.
Partner with IT to leverage technology in improving planning processes and systems.
Process Improvement:
Continuously assess and improve planning processes and systems for increased efficiency and accuracy.
Implement best practices in merchandise planning and inventory management.

Yêu Cầu Công Việc
A minimum of 10 years of experience in merchandise planning, buying, or a related area, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
Strong analytical skills and experience in financial modeling and data analysis.
Proficiency in merchandise planning systems and MS Office (especially Excel).
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Retail Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
Language: Fluency in English (listening, speaking, writing, reading)
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Ability to work under extreme pressure.
