Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the Humanitarian Operations Advisor - Project Management in Worldwide, any existing SCI location
ROLE PURPOSE:
The purpose of this role is to provide both Humanitarian and Program Operations expertise to one of SCI's global priority projects - PPM PRIME. This role will work within the Project Management Function (PMM PRIME project workstream), providing subject matter expertise, to ensure that the solution delivered to country offices in 2022 and 2024 is fit for purpose. The role holder will use their Humanitarian and Program Operations experience to define how PRIME should be used by staff delivering projects, identify what new ways of working will be needed and document the accompanying guidance to enable the solution to be adopted. They will work with the Head of Project Management to agree the services provided to support humanitarian responses. Finally, the role holder will work closely with the PRIME
Product Owner to identify areas of enhancements and/or continuous improvements relevant to their field of expertise.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- An excellent theoretical and practical understanding of project management processes i.e. familiarity with SCI's Project Management Methodology or PMD Pro, as well as multiple years of experience working within SCI/SCA's Program Operations function in Humanitarian set ups;
- Demonstrable ability to challenge the user-friendliness of set up, requirements and design for implementation and regular usage;
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate/mediate; to facilitate the resolution of conflicting business requirements;
- Intellectual curiosity and the ability to question thought partners across functional areas;
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic and able to take the initiative and ownership to deliver results;
- Cultural awareness and experience of delivering solutions internationally;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Engaging as well as assertive, influencing and negotiating;
- True passion for results, responsibility and proactivity;
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in English;
- Competent in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint; MS Teams
We can offer circa £53,000 per annum (If based in UK) with an option of flexible working hours. If the role is based outside of the UK, National T&C (including pay) will apply.
This role can be based in London or any existing Save the Children International office location on approval, provided the successful candidate has proof of eligibility to work from the preferred location.
