UNICEF Viet Nam requires high-quality photography services to document programmes, UN joint events, and advocacy initiatives. Visual assets are essential for communication, fundraising, and reporting, aligned with UNICEF's ethical and visual guidelines. This consultancy is required as these functions are not part of regular staff duties but require specialized professional photography expertise.
Purpose Of Assignment To provide high-quality, ethically produced photography packages showcasing UNICEF-supported programmes and results for children in Viet Nam.
In emergency scenarios or activities that cannot be covered in any way, the capacity to provide video footage in addition to photo packages will be an asset. Candidates with this capacity are encouraged to reflect on their application.
The Consultants shall ensure effective and efficient provision of services, while maintaining full confidentiality in all aspects of assignment, management of information and follow-up on deadlines and commitments.

Objectives
Produce complete photography packages per UNICEF guidelines.
Provide high-resolution, captioned, ethically collected imagery.
Support rapid-response missions, including emergencies.
Major Tasks To Be Accomplished
Responsibilities of the Consultant
Attend mission briefings.
Mobilize on short notice.
Travel to remote areas; operate drone when required.
Capture RAW + JPEG high-res images (24-36 MP).
Ensure compliance with UNICEF child safeguarding and consent.
Provide edited, captioned, metadata-complete images.

Provide oversight and approval.

High-quality RAW + JPEG images.
Edited selections.

Signed consent forms.
Short-form video snippets when required.
LTA_Photography_Services [protected info] The LTA to be signed will have a fixed fee for two years, with possibility of extension for one more year. However, UNICEF does not guarantee that any quantity of services will be purchased during the term of the LTA as this will depend on forthcoming needs.
Whenever services are required, the lead programme would contact the top-ranking LTA (based on technical scores). Should this consultant not be available for the event, UNICEF will contact the second-ranked consultant and so on.
Upon receipt of this communication, the LTA consultant would have to confirm availability for the assignment. Upon review of the report, UNICEF will send the consultant a written communication confirming the requirement in the form of a work order sent by email.
The order will include details on the location of the project, number of hours to be worked and other practical details. Price of the order will be based on daily fee included in the LTA contract. After the work order has been sent, no further costs will be reimbursed by UNICEF (increased number of work hours) unless there is prior written authorization by UNICEF.
Once the services are completed and have been approved by UNICEF, the consultant will send the following documentation for payment purposes: a) complete invoice indicating number of working hours/ completed products b) copy of the UNICEF order for the assignment.
Payment will be made after completion of assignments and submission of final invoice for the actual work completed, subject to satisfactory performance.

Education: University degree or equivalent in the field of multimedia/communication/marketing.
Minimum five years of progressive relevant experience in photography and photo editing. Proven experience photographing children, communities, and sensitive contexts in Viet Nam.
Good quality of previous work.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to facilitate and communicate effectively to technical and nontechnical audiences and contribute to an interdisciplinary team.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, and make sound, informed decisions. On the other hand, ability to work effectively in team, under pressure and in crisis situations.
Flexibility for rapid deployment on short notice.
Fluent English (verbal and written) is a must.
Evaluation Criteria
Technical evaluation: 80 points
Professional qualifications: 10 points
University degree or equivalent in the field of multimedia/communication/marketing.
Relevant professional experience: 20 points
Minimum five years of progressive relevant experience in photography and photo editing.
Proven experience photographing children, communities, and sensitive contexts in Viet Nam.
Technical capacity & equipment: 20 points
Ability to produce high-resolution RAW + JPEG images meeting UNICEF technical requirements.
Ability to operate professional photography equipment, including backup equipment for field assignments.
Capacity to provide short-form video snippets when required, particularly for emergency or rapid-response assignments.
Ability to deliver edited, captioned and metadata-complete image packages.
Portfolio quality & storytelling: 20 points
Quality of previous work, including composition, lighting, colour, authenticity and storytelling.
Evidence of ethical and respectful representation of children, communities and sensitive contexts.
Demonstrated ability to produce image sets suitable for communication, fundraising, reporting, print, web and social media use.
Language, interpersonal skills and availability: 10 points
Fluent English, including ability to provide captions and credit lines in English.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences and contribute to an interdisciplinary team.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, make sound decisions, work effectively in a team, and remain available for rapid deployment on short notice.
The minimum overall qualifying score is 50% of the technical score. Only those candidates who meet the overall qualifying marks of 50 and will be considered technically responsive, and their financials will be opened.
Financial Evaluation (20 Points)
The maximum number of points shall be allotted to the lowest Financial Proposal that is opened /evaluated and compared among those technical qualified candidates who have attained a minimum 50 points score in the technical evaluation.
Other Financial
Proposals will receive points in inverse proportion to the lowest price.
The Contract shall be awarded to candidate obtaining the highest combined technical and financial scores, subject to the satisfactory result of the verification interview if needed.
