Role Description:
This is a full-time, on-site position for a Java Backend Developer using Quarkus, located at our office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend services for our ASRS and warehouse-related software systems. This includes building microservices with Quarkus, designing APIs, integrating with databases, IoT/edge systems, and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, performant, and maintainable backend solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Quarkus.
- Implement microservices-based architectures for ASRS and warehouse management/automation systems.
- Build and maintain RESTful and/or event-driven APIs for internal and external consumers.
- Integrate backend services with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and external systems (WMS, hardware controllers, IoT gateways).
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and resource usage (especially in container/edge environments).
- Implement error handling, logging, and monitoring for backend services.
- Collaborate with front-end and mobile developers to integrate user-facing components with backend APIs.
- Participate in technical design, code reviews, and continuous improvement of coding standards and architecture.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, staging, and production environments.
Qualifications:
- Solid experience in Backend or Software Development using Java.
- Hands-on experience with Java frameworks; experience with Quarkus is a strong advantage (or willingness to adopt it).
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
- Experience with building RESTful APIs and working with JSON, HTTP, and related web technologies.
- Previous experience with database management (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other SQL/NoSQL databases).
- Familiarity with concepts of microservices, modular architectures, and distributed systems.
- Basic understanding of front-end integration and web application architecture.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional, on-site team environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Nice to Have:
- Practical experience with Quarkus in production or pilot projects.
- Experience with ASRS, warehouse management systems, or industrial automation solutions.
- Experience working with IoT devices, edge gateways, or industrial protocols (e.g., MQTT, Modbus, OPC-UA).
- Familiarity with containerization and DevOps tooling (Docker, CI/CD pipelines).
- Knowledge of message brokers/streaming systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, etc.).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and deploying Java microservices in the cloud.
- Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, etc.).
