Job Summary
Responsible for the Impo/Expo Logistics operation, including Customs management at a specific country, hub, group of countries/hubs or business unit in the Regional Business Services Center. Lead and develop Transportation Planners group to assure impo/expo process within CP Best Practice standards ("Essentials") and collaborate with SNP, Local Logistics, Manufacturing and Global Logistics on effectively supporting international replenishment process for finished goods, R&PM and/or machinery.
Responsible for total impo/expo Logistics operation for assigned Country/Hub's/Region: manages, and performs when necessary, all aspects of the Logistics cycle while cultivating effective relationships with both suppliers and CP colleagues. Accountable for successful impo/expo management and monitoring all aspects of the customer service process to assure on time deliveries to Internal Customers.
Lead the team who is responsible to manage the Impo/Expo Operation by serving as the primary contact point for communications related to orders and deliveries. The primary accountabilities of the role include building and maintaining logistics relations while managing the international logistics operation including the troubleshooting of difficult deliveries, customs agencies & freight forwarders management, and resolution of exceptions and claims within CBS R&R.
Is accountable for managing the people, processes, and technology related activities required to operate, manage, expand and deliver in-scope international logistics assigned to for specific country, hub, group of countries/hubs or business unit assigned. Directs CBS Impo/Expo Logistics team and ensures operations & employee management activities within the CS&L CBS center organization conform to Corporate and local HR policies and procedures, legal / regulatory authorities, and all internal control & SOX compliance. Provides and/or enables the education and coaching of direct reports.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Leadership:
- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction to CBS Impo/Expo Team to specific country, hub, group of countries/hubs or business unit assigned. Accountable for ensuring alignment with CS&L function and CBS overall strategic goals; Communicates frequently with the Regional CBS Leadership team and Local CS&L and Manufacturing on service KPI achievement and important service issues.
Services:
- Oversees the delivery of Impo/Expo Operation to specific country, hub, group of countries/hubs or business unit assigned.
- Ensure the highest level of Customer Service is provided to our Internal Customers through the development and maintenance of Logistics Management Best Practices (inclusive of Customs Management).
- Evaluates performance and productivity in accordance with SLA/KPI service levels for Logistics Management team and works with the entire Supply Chain and Sales organizations to maximize results.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining adherence to standard and best practices across multiple LM teams supporting multiple Colgate Divisions/subsidiaries or Business Units.
- Reviews and signs off on knowledge transfer, training completion, critical deliverables, and cutover readiness of Impo/Expo Logistics team.
- Accountable for the implementation of Process Improvements strategies, standards, and delivery goals for Expo/Impo team for specific country, hub, group of countries/hubs or business unit assigned.
- Responsible to assure Transportation Process Execution (Resources planning, Pick Up appointment accomplishment, Customs Agencies management) on time according to key stakeholders requirements (SNP, Manufacturing), including controls and policies compliance.
- Responsible to take decision for critical issue resolution related to International Transportation operation.
- Identify and escalate system issues.
- Provide Daily Transportation status according to WH and FF scheduled
- Communicate Transportation Security Guideline to carriers
- Assure Transportation Regulatory Compliance
- Routing Guide Management
- Provide metrics and insights to evaluate carriers during Bidding Processes.
- Assure proper system master data maintenance based on Logistics guidelines and decisions.
- Track carrier performance and escalate performance issues to adjust Routing Guide assignment.
- Maintenance Transportation Master Data (routes, zones and lead times)
- Contribute in FTG projects identification and ensure project implementation & execution.
- Handle PM&D Transportation Team
- Responsible to propose and develop new Transportation Strategy for Continues Improvement Process.
- Responsible to support Subsidiary cost and service.
Service Governance:
- Responsible for international logistics engagement activities for supported specific country, hub, group of countries/hubs or business unit assigned.
- Responsible for ensuring internal controls as well as SOX controls are adhered to and checks and balances are in place for International Logistics Service levels for specific country, hub, group of countries/hubs or business unit assigned.
Continuous Improvement:
- Responsible for implementing projects and service process improvements in support of service quality, continuous improvement, service and policy standardization, process innovation, development of best practices and sustainable change, innovation, internal/external benchmarking, and customer satisfaction programs, in close collaboration with Regional CBS center, as well as the Division/Subsidiary commercial teams. Also work with systems support personnel to ensure greater utilization of SAP throughout the Customer Service & Logistics organization.
People Development:
- Accountable for implementing Company goals and ideals around employee engagement and development of a high performance culture for the Expo/Impo team in charge of, including support of succession planning and people development programs. Empowers subordinates by way of training, information sharing, coaching, feedback, appraisals, and delegation, to ensure the development of people and organizational capabilities. Additionally is responsible for giving input to and executing the CS&L succession plan.
Range of Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- More than 5 years of experience in International Logistics, Customs Management, Freight Management, Incoterms, and Transportation Management. Experience in managing people, and a broad knowledge in commercial business.
- Skills: Regulatory and Customs policies, Ocean, rail and land transportation.
