Role Overview
As Backend Technical Lead, you will define the architecture, lead engineering initiatives, and directly build core backend systems of our digital banking platform. You'll ensure scalability, performance, and security, while mentoring and growing a high-performing backend team.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and operate complex backend services and APIs with Java & Spring Boot.
Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship to backend engineers.
Conduct code reviews to ensure architecture, performance, security, and maintainability.
Collaborate with Product, DevOps, QA, and other leads to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
Oversee system performance, scalability, and security; lead troubleshooting in production.
Promote engineering best practices (TDD, BDD, CI/CD, code quality).
Evaluate and adopt new technologies, frameworks, and tools.
Contribute to hiring and technical assessment of backend engineers.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
6+ years of backend experience, including leadership/tech lead roles.
Proven track record in microservices, distributed systems, event-driven architecture.
Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot (Data, Security, Cloud).
Solid experience with databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB), SQL optimization, schema design.
Proficiency with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, SQS, SNS).
Strong background in RESTful APIs, Git, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes.
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) is a plus.
Knowledge of security standards (PCI DSS, GDPR), resilience patterns, and caching (Redis/Memcached).
Excellent leadership, mentoring, problem-solving, and communication skills.
