Lead / Senior Java Developer

You will have an exclusive opportunity to work directly with our international partner setting up their brand-new development center in Ho Chi Minh City. What you will do

• You'll work with the team to help organize the team's activities, and will play an important role in mentoring and developing more junior team members, while having plenty of time to do your own development work, and will sometimes lead to more complex development tasks involving multiple people
• Your team lead will look to you as their most capable team member and will depend on you for input and advice on many areas of the team's operation
• We work closely with a broader open source ecosystem and contributions upstream are encouraged and part of your day to day work
• Provide continuous support and guidance to less senior colleagues through regular coaching activities and support them in fulfilling their personal development plans

What you should have

• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• 7+ years of working experience and solid Computer Science/Engineering skills, e.g. concurrency, algorithms, data structures, distributed system concepts
• Experience in supporting/working with high-velocity development processes
• An ability to understand and communicate abstract ideas and problems
• Willingness to learn new technologies
• Work confidently in Java (Rust and/or Go experience would be advantageous)
• Experience with DevOps principles and technology (e.g. Jenkins, Terraform, Docker)
• Experience with Cloud environments and concepts (AWS, Google or Azure)
• Strong leadership & coaching skills (both in technical & human relations)
• Good English communication skills (both verbal & written), especially in the global software development environment
• Be happy to coach, mentor, and train less senior colleagues
