Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the Manager - Humanitarian Cash & Voucher at any existing Save the Children International office location/remote.
ROLE PURPOSE:
The Center Humanitarian Technical CVA Team (CHTT CVA) is looking for a motivated Manager to support the successful implementation of CVA Team milestones, while providing specific support to ongoing CVA and CP activities on behalf of the movement.
Save the Children recently re-structured their global humanitarian technical team to bring TAs from global members under one umbrella, to streamline integration, efficiency, effectiveness, and collaboration to achieve better results for children. These new ways of working will require significant operational, administrative, and managerial support to become an effective resource for country and regional offices, and the Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the successful functioning of the team.
In addition to support of the CHTT CVA team, Save the Children has recently become an inter-agency leader on Cash and Voucher Assistance and Child Protection - most notably, leading the development of global guidance, finalizing a learning package on CVA and CP, and working in partnership with Johns Hopkins University on researching child protection outcomes on child labor with households experiencing displacement in Lebanon and Colombia. The CHTT CVA Manager will spend a percentage of their time directly supporting the implementation of CVA and CP pilots, engaging with COs, managing relationships, and ensuring progress towards outcomes.
This role will offer capacity-building opportunities to learn more about humanitarian CVA, support the direction of the CHTT CVA, while ensuring proper delivery, monitoring, and reporting of CVA and CP strategic activities.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly. The Manager will not be expected to deploy to rapid onset humanitarian crisis, but travel might be expected in the course of the responsibilities.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus at least 3 years of relevant experience in experience in supporting project operations preferably in an international NGO environment.
- Strong project management experience
- Strong planning/anticipation, organisation, facilitation and administration skills
- Analytical skills to identify key points from complex material
- Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
- Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining and environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging
- An understanding of the humanitarian aid architecture
- Strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy and cultural sensitivity to interact with persons from a range of socio-cultural backgrounds
Desirable:
- Language skills in French, Arabic, or Spanish a plus
- Familiarity with either CVA and/or CP in humanitarian contexts a plus
- Good situational agility skills with a high degree of flexibility and adaptability in order to respond to changing needs
- Experience working/living abroad
- Previous deployments to support the implementation of humanitarian awards
- Demonstrated ability to understand and proactively thrive in a complex, matrixed, international organization
We can offer circa £40,000 per annum (If based in UK) with an option of flexible working hours. If the role is based outside of the UK, National T&C (including pay) will apply.
This role can be based in any existing Save the Children International Regional or Country office location on approval, provided the successful candidate has proof of eligibility to work from the preferred location.
