Role Summary
Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for Compact Secondary Substations (CSS), Ecoflex switchgear, and SSU (secondary switch units). Create detailed 3D CAD (Solidworks) models and 2D drawings, perform calculations, and ensure manufacturing readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review project requirements, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Develop 2D and 3D CAD models and detailed mechanical drawings for substation and switchgear systems using SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Calculate material dimensions, tolerances, structural supports, bus and enclosure design, and bill of materials.
• Prepare and maintain mechanical BOMs, assembly/traveler packages, shop drawings, and documentation for manufacturing.
• Collaborate closely with electrical designers, engineers,
project managers, and manufacturers to verify design feasibility and compliance with IEC, AU/NZ, ISO standards.
• Conduct prototype reviews, testing, and incorporate feedback to refine and finalize production designs.
• Ensure straightforward manufacturability and assembly; support shop floor personnel during build and issue resolution.
• Participate in design reviews and update documentation based on feedback or test results.
Yêu cầu
Required Qualifications:
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or related fields.
• 3-5 years (or more) experience in mechanical design of switchgear, CSS, substation equipment or similar.
• Proficiency with CAD tools: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge in sheet metal detailing, structural design, enclosures, and fabrication processes.
• Familiarity with electrical switchgear codes and standards (IEC, AS/NZ, etc.).
Skills & Abilities
• Highly detail-oriented to produce precise and well-balanced drawing packages.
• Strong technical drawing capabilities, including schematic, orthographic, and angle views.
• Excellent mathematical and analytical aptitude for calculations (tolerances, clearances, strength).
• Effective oral and written communication; able to collaborate across engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Capability to independently manage workload and deadlines with high accuracy.
