Degrees are awarded by RMIT University in Australia, allowing Vietnamese students to receive an overseas education without having to leave home. Given its international profile, RMIT Vietnam is also host to students from Australia and many other countries. POSITION SUMMARY
The Multimedia Designer is the senior Multimedia position in the Online Learning Team and will manage and allocate the work of more junior multimedia staff on the team, including training and mentoring team members and allocating and reviewing multimedia and design work. The Multimedia Designer is responsible for defining and implementing the visual identity of online and blended courses and digital assets for the Online Learning Team. The Multimedia Design Lead will create visual and multimedia artefacts to enhance learning as well as mentor and guide other multimedia staff to create digital assets. This includes developing and implementing processes, work allocation, design concepts, as well as creating graphics, animations, and videos, and overseeing the production and distribution of educational materials. This role requires a strong understanding of design principles, multimedia production, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The role will require oversight of other team members work.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Help define, maintain and implement the visual identity and work processes for the Learning Design Team and all work produced by the team.
- Develop and implement design concepts for educational materials, including online course look and feels, videos, and other multimedia materials.
- Create visual, audio, and multimedia objects including video, online materials, presentations, brochures and posters, and other print and online materials.
- Create visually appealing materials, course and program look and feels, design assets and interactives that create an attractive, engaging and meaningful learning experience.
- Produce professional-standard work which has tone and style appropriate to the audience and is compliant with RMIT's brand guidelines. Produce work efficiently, and within time and budget constraints.
- Support staff professional development in terms of learning media creation including supporting the development and delivery of workshops and resources to support staff making their own media.
- Provide guidance and feedback, to work by other more junior staff, ensuring all work meets the Learning Design Team's standards.
- Liaise with external vendors and stakeholders to produce high quality video content.
- Support the Learning Design team by sourcing or creating multimedia assets and resources for Canvas courses and support resources.
- Stay current with emerging trends in design and multimedia production, and incorporate new techniques and technologies as appropriate.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
- University Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Design, Multimedia)
- Demonstrated minimum of 3 years of experience in design and multimedia production
- Strong understanding of design principles, design production, digital design, and multimedia production techniques.
- Demonstrated good level of English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Experience working in an educational context would be an advantage.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience working with a range of digital multimedia design tools such as the Adobe suite, particularly Illustrator and Premiere Pro.
- Intermediate knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Awareness of international copyright and academic integrity principles; evidence of commitment to apply the principles in daily work.
- Be highly organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and show initiative.
- Ability to anticipate deadlines, and plan tasks accordingly.
- Strong demonstrated ability to perform routine tasks with a high degree of accuracy and careful attention to detail.
- Ability to design graphics for print media (e.g., posters, brochures) would be an advantage.
- Ability to display appropriate behaviours in line with the position, as per the RMIT Behavioural Capability Framework (Connectedness, Commitment to Excellence - Improve and Simplify; Imagination and Innovation; Impact; Inclusion; Agility).
- Experience or interest in front end development is desirable but not required.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY
English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS (General) score of at least 5.5
For any role, English Language Proficiency may also be proven by showing successful completion of secondary education to a level qualifying to enter university study while being instructed through the medium of English, as per the RMIT University recognised qualification list.
