Position Summary: The Production Planning Manager is responsible for overseeing and leading production planning and material planning functions, ensuring efficient production schedules, optimizing resources, and driving operational excellence to meet customer demands and business objectives. Purchasing, Engineering, Warehouse, and Logistics teams to ensure timely material availability for production while optimizing inventory costs and maintaining supply continuity.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement effective production planning strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the timely and efficient execution of production schedules.
• Analyze customer demand, production capacity, material availability, and inventory levels to develop accurate and achievable production and material plans.
• Lead the material planning process to ensure the timely availability of raw materials, components, and packaging materials to support production requirements.
• Manage inventory planning and control activities to maintain optimal inventory levels while minimizing excess, obsolete inventory, and overall inventory carrying costs.
• Collaborate closely with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Warehouse, and Logistics teams to ensure material readiness, resolve supply issues, support engineering changes, and maintain supply continuity.
• Utilize production capacity, manpower, equipment, and material resources to maximize productivity and minimize operational costs.
• Monitor production progress and material availability to ensure adherence to production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
• Identify potential production bottlenecks, material shortages, or supply chain risks, and develop corrective and preventive actions to minimize operational disruptions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in production planning, material planning, inventory management, and overall supply chain efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, company policies, and production procedures across all planning activities.
• Develop, monitor, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production planning, inventory performance, schedule adherence, material availability, forecast accuracy, and inventory turnover.
• Prepare and present regular reports, performance analysis, and improvement recommendations to senior management regarding planning performance, operational risks, and business opportunities.
