Job Responsibilities
Product Design and Development
• Research to identify trends and generate ideas.
1. Material research: finding new species of wood, leather and other materials.
2. Trend spotting: attending shows and exhibitions to discover new developments.
3. Collaborating with external designers to get fresh ideas.
• Feasibility study with sample department at factory to explore
1. costs and economics,
2. material to be used,
3. durability of solutions
4. sustainability and environmental footprint,
5. modular development to allow exchange of parts.
• Make samples and deliver Gold Sealed Sample and Gold Sealed Specifications.
• Develop specification sheet.
• Create range plan, i.e., items that go into the new product's range.
