Position Summary
The Product Feasibility Check Staff (PFC Staff) serves as the first-line online gatekeeper responsible for reviewing, verifying, and conducting preliminary compliance assessments of product data before any
purchasing decisions are made. Focusing primarily on California Proposition 65 (CA Prop 65) criteria, the staff will act as the crucial "Human-in-the-Loop"-collaborating with internal AI systems (Gemini Enterprise) to audit e-commerce listings, validate automated risk alerts, and compile evidence. Having a background or basic knowledge in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Material Science is highly preferred, as it enables the staff to deeply understand chemical compositions and cross-verify exposure risks effectively. The core objective is to screen and flag high-risk products online, then hand over the qualified data to the Purchasing and Testing departments for physical procurement and lab analysis.
Key Responsibilities
1. AI-Assisted Online Product & Chemical Screening
Monitor, review, and validate automated compliance alerts and risk scores generated by the internal Gemini Enterprise system or ChatGPT or any AI tools.
Verify the accuracy of AI-extracted product attributes (brand names, online sellers, manufacturers, and supplier backgrounds).
Utilize chemical knowledge to evaluate AI-generated risk alerts regarding specific restricted substances (e.g., Phthalates, Lead, Cadmium, BPA) based on the product's material type.
Cross-check AI-generated findings against public corporate registries (e.g., Opencorporates, ZoomInfo) to verify target company size, confirming if they meet the 10+ employee threshold for Prop 65 liability.
2. E-Commerce & Material Listing Audit
Review and audit product listings on public websites and e-commerce platforms (Amazon, eBay, Walmart, etc.) to evaluate procurement feasibility.
Meticulously inspect online product descriptions, spec sheets, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS) if available, and listing images to detect potential chemical exposure risks or the presence/absence of mandatory warning labels.
Utilize the California Attorney General's database to research historical "60-Day Notices," identifying litigation precedents for similar online product categories and chemical violations.
3. Digital Evidence Management & Dossier Compilation
Gather and archive verifiable digital evidence, including high-quality screenshots of active listings, live URLs, seller information, and related online documentation.
Maintain structured, secure, and clear digital compliance and feasibility files within internal databases or Google Sheets according to company procedures.
4. Cross-Departmental Coordination & Handoff
Record, summarize, and update product feasibility and compliance risk statuses (High/Medium/Low) in the internal system.
Coordinate and hand over screened product reports to the Purchasing (Procurement) and Testing (Lab Analysis) departments to initiate sample buying and physical testing for flagged items.
Monitor and re-audit active digital listings whenever there are updates to online descriptions, supplier sources, or warning labels.
