We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Planner to manage and coordinate production schedules within our manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining material availability, and supporting the on-time delivery of high-quality products to our customers.
The Production Planner will work closely with production,
purchasing, engineering, and leadership to ensure manufacturing operations run efficiently while meeting company goals and customer expectations. This position requires strong organizational skills, manufacturing knowledge, and experience working with ERP systems such as Epicor, SAP, or similar platforms.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and has the ability to forecast production needs, manage materials, and coordinate cross-department activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the production schedule using ERP systems to ensure efficient workflow and on-time delivery
- Coordinate materials purchasing and inventory planning to support manufacturing requirements
- Work with production teams to ensure schedules are executed efficiently and production goals are met
- Collaborate with purchasing, engineering, and other departments to resolve scheduling or material constraints
- Monitor manufacturing operations to ensure cost, quality, and delivery objectives are achieved
- Assist in establishing forecasting models and capacity planning for production operations
- Track and communicate key operational performance metrics
- Continuously review operational processes and recommend improvements for efficiency and productivity
- Support communication between departments to quickly resolve production issues
- Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field, and/or equivalent relevant manufacturing experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in production planning, manufacturing operations, or a similar role
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience using Epicor, SAP, or a similar ERP system in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with production scheduling and manufacturing workflows
Knowledge of materials management and purchasing processes
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering,
- Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
- Experience working with Epicor ERP
- Experience in capital equipment manufacturing or contract manufacturing
- Experience working in precision or advanced manufacturing environments
- Experience with ERP reporting or production data analysis
