Summary of Position, Responsibility and Authority
Ensure that purchasing system is effective and all supplies, equipment, and relevant services are purchased while maintaining high quality standards and cost effectiveness.
Responsibilities & Duties
• Identify and approve resort suppliers based on price, quality, and services.
• Implement credit terms with suppliers and vendors and advise the concerned managers of the discredited suppliers and vendors.
• Provide knowledge to all concerned employees on
purchasing process regularly to ensure that the purchasing standard operating procedure is reinforced and that everyone assists in minimize cost and time.
• Develop strong working knowledge of purchasing system.
• Ensure that filing and archive system is in accordance with accounting procedure.
• Train and develop
purchasing staff to be able to perform their job well and continue to use their innovative skill to improve work process and cost saving while focusing on quality and guest satisfaction.
• Maintain system between purchasing staff to ensure time lines, quality, and quantity of goods.
• Ensuring that orders are filled and supplies are delivered on time as requested by department.
• Work closely with department heads and deal with vendors or suppliers.
• Make all purchase of materials, merchandise and services to the maximum efficiency, economy and accuracy for adequate control.
• To continually do market research in order to seek for new better products, prices, and service in the markets.
• Be aware and alert of the new market trends, technology, and other innovative ideas and products and keep all managers updated.
• To, at all times, purchase goods, supplies, services which are environmentally friendly.
• To prepare all necessary paper work when ordering goods from all vendors.
• To follow up the delivery date of goods ordered.
• Actively participate in all meetings by providing relevant information and purchasing services.
• Adhere to company code of conduct at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by General Manager.
• Other tasks as defined by management.
• Experience in Hospitality Assistant Purchasing Manager/ Purchasing Manager position at least 2 years.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Negotiation Skill.
• Trustworthy, honest, reliable and able to work independently.
• Microsoft Office
• Fluently in English in written & speaking.
