QA & QC Engineer

A. Purpose
QA/QC ENGINEER will direct and be the single focal point responsible for the Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) matters in projects at the corporate level.
B. Responsibility
- Ensure all work executed by the turnaround contractor is carried out in a professional, safe & environmentally friendly manner at all times.
- Enforce project quality objectives at all project phases and participates in Independent Projects Reviews (IPRs) as required.
- Establish, guide and review equipment & material criticality rating and the required inspection & certification levels as required.
- Advise on and review materials selection queries for corrosion and service deterioration mitigation.
- Advise on and lead/guide the Engineering Critical Assessments (ECA) for establishing alternative NDT acceptance criteria.
- Review and advice on Technical Deviations, Technical Queries and Non¬ Conformity Reports advise and lead/guide technical investigations to establish nonconformities root causes.
- Advise and attend projects Risk Assessment, HAZID and HAZOP workshops as required. Advice and guide on failure investigation of existing facilities and the required mitigations for safe operation.
- Accountable to QC Specialist for the establishment and monitoring of QA/QC activities.
- Operates within the framework of established client policies, philosophies, standards, specifications, procedures and guidelines.
- Acts with independence in decision making for the acceptance/rejection of all QA/QC related matters.
- The incumbent's key involvement in the various stages of project definition and execution includes responsibility and accountability for technical quality; safety in engineering & construction and for ensuring that procurement and constructions are as per design requirements.
- Reports to QC Specialist on a regular basis to agree priorities and discuss the status on each activity.
- Collaborates directly with QA/QC projects staff up to Manager level on a Corporate basis to address and discuss specific integrated QA/QC related issues.
- Able to plan and conduct Integrated quality, management systems and certification Audits and inspections and implement relevant plans, policies and procedures.
- Frequent long extended working hours and exposed to job related stress and consequent affects.
- Exposed to multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural environment requiring special skill for its management.
- Demand for managing good inter-personal relationships and effective communication within the client teams and Contractor's teams.
