Location: 555 3/2 Street, Ward 8, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City.
Working time: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM (Monday - Friday) and 8:30 - 12:30 (Saturday Morning).
I. Career Objective:
- R&D Beauty Manager is responsible for researching and developing cosmetic products, from proposing formula ideas to working with laboratories and manufacturers to bring products to life. This role ensures that the products are competitive, safe to use, highly effective, and aligned with market trends.
- Additionally, the R&D Beauty Manager collaborates with ingredient suppliers, keeps track of the latest research on ingredients, manufacturing technology, packaging, and finished products to propose suitable innovations in line with the business strategy. This role is also responsible for building a quality management system, ensuring that all products meet standards before being launched in the market.
II. Responsibilities:
1. Formula Development & Production Supervision:
- Propose new cosmetic formula ideas based on market trends, customer needs, and business strategy.
- Select active ingredients and key raw materials to ensure effective, safe, and brand-aligned formulations.
- Collaborate with domestic and international laboratories to test, adjust, and refine product formulas.
- Conduct stability tests, compatibility tests, and efficacy tests to ensure formula stability and performance.
- Work with manufacturing plants to oversee trial production and mass production, ensuring:
- The formula is implemented according to the original design.
- Product quality is controlled at every production stage.
- Quick resolution of production issues to maintain efficiency and output quality.
- The final product meets the required texture, effectiveness, safety, and sensory standards.
- Work closely with the Brand Manager & Marketing Team to align product formulas with brand positioning and market demand.
- Propose and test improved formulas to enhance product performance compared to competitors.
- Monitor consumer feedback and suggest product improvements based on real-world data.
2. Market Trends & New Technology Research:
- Stay updated and analyze emerging trends in raw materials, manufacturing technologies, packaging, and finished products in the beauty industry.
- Work with raw material suppliers to research and test new ingredients for formula optimization.
- Evaluate scientific research and industry literature to develop high-performance, safe, and consumer-friendly products.
3. Product Quality Management & Compliance:
- Develop a quality management system covering formula development to mass production.
- Ensure product compliance with cosmetic safety regulations, including microbiological, toxicity, and efficacy testing.
- Oversee product quality control and clinical testing when necessary.
- Supervise trial production processes to ensure formulas are implemented as designed.
4. Ingredient & Formulation Consultation:
- Recommend suitable raw materials for each product line, ensuring effectiveness and safety.
- Provide insights into chemical formulations and ingredient ratios to optimize product performance.
- Ensure compliance with domestic and international regulatory standards for all formula components.
- Support the legal team in product registration for export markets.
III. Requirements:
1. Experience:
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in cosmetic R&D, working with raw materials, formulations, and manufacturing.
2. Education:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Cosmetic Science, Pharmacy, Biology, Food Technology, Material Science, or related fields.
3. Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, chemical formulations, and ingredient combinations for optimal performance.
- Experience working with manufacturing plants, R&D teams, and raw material suppliers to develop formulas and products.
- Understanding of cosmetic safety standards, quality control, and regulatory requirements for domestic and international markets.
- Experience conducting stability tests, compatibility tests, and efficacy tests to assess product stability and performance.
4. Soft Skills:
- Ability to analyze market trends, innovate, and think creatively.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with various stakeholders (Brand Managers, Marketing, Suppliers, and Manufacturers).
- Detail-oriented with excellent project management skills in research and product development.
- Proficient in English to collaborate with international partners and understand technical documents.
