Retail Supply Planning Planner

JOB SUMMARY The Planner is responsible for managing supply planning operations for Ashley Furniture's retail distribution network. This role ensures optimal inventory levels across distribution centers and retail locations while balancing service levels, inventory costs, and operational efficiency. The Planner collaborates with cross-functional teams including merchandising, logistics, vendor management, and finance to drive supply chain excellence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Manage the complete purchase order process for domestic and container shipments, ensuring on-time order placement, accurate quantities, and effective coordination across multiple vendors.
· Monitor and strategically manage inventory levels across regional distribution centers, analyzing weeks of supply, turn rates, and service levels to maintain optimal stock positions.
· Analyze demand patterns and market trends to proactively adjust supply plans, refine replenishment parameters, and improve forecast accuracy in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
· Build collaborative vendor relationships by managing order communications, addressing capacity constraints, negotiating delivery schedules, and driving continuous performance improvement.
· Develop comprehensive analytics and reporting using Power BI dashboards, SQL queries, and advanced Excel modeling to provide visibility, insights, and decision support to stakeholders.
· Identify and implement process improvements that enhance inventory productivity, automate manual tasks, improve data accuracy, and deliver measurable business results.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education
· Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or industry equivalent experience - Required
· Master's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Economics, or other related functions - Preferred
Experience
· Supply Chain Planning: 4+ years in Supply Chain Operations, in traditional retail planning, ecommerce, or omni-channel role - Preferred
Licenses or Certifications
· ASCM/APICS - CPIM, CSCP and Six Sigma Certs - Preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Strong Excel skills and SQL skills
. Power BI or similar BI tools
· Analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in manipulating data to quickly highlight trends, risks, and draw accurate conclusions from the data
· Strong skills in agility, along with the ability to pivot easily when directions and priorities changes on short notice
· Solid understanding of merchandising, inventory flow, and monthly open-to-buy planning.
