The Senior AAOS Framework Engineer will lead the architecture, customization, and implementation of core AOSP system services and internal frameworks. You will modify and extend the internal Android system layer to bridge high-level applications with vehicle-specific hardware subsystems, ensuring stable vehicle control, synchronized system timing, and optimized power orchestration.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
Customize and extend the Android Automotive CarService architecture and its associated internal APIs (CarPropertyManager, CarCabinManager).
Design and implement custom AIDL/HIDL interfaces to connect Android System Services to the Vehicle Hardware Abstraction Layer (VHAL).
Modify core Android power state machines (PowerManagerService) to manage vehicle-specific states like quick-boot, suspend-to-RAM, and wake locks.
Develop system-level services for multi-user profile management, vehicle time synchronization, and positioning frameworks.

Core Skills & Competencies:
Deep expertise in internal AOSP architecture, System Server, binder IPC, and Android system services.
Advanced proficiency in Java and C++ within the Android framework environment.
Strong knowledge of AIDL/HIDL interfaces and custom hardware abstraction layer binding.
Experience debugging internal Android system crashes using logcat, dumpsys, and debuggerd.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,
Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in Android engineering, with at least 3 years explicitly spent customizing the AOSP framework layer.
Desired / Preferred Qualifications:
Direct experience with the Android Automotive OS (AAOS) branch of AOSP.
Familiarity with multi-display management in Android (DisplayManagerService).
