Senior DevOps Engineer AWS/Azure

We are seeking passionate Service Reliability Engineers/DevOps Engineer to join our existing talented team. You will be part of a specialist team working across DevOps practices, Operations and Development. You will take part in deployments to production and non-production environments in the cloud (AWS & Azure). It's an exciting time to be part of this service with one of the first large-scale applications in Australia which is preparing to run a multi-cloud system.

YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide performance, reliability & resilience testing strategies
2. Create own and manage the application Release schedule
3. Manage scope of release to ensure all risk and impacts are captured and mitigated
4. Own, manage and demonstrate uplift from PIRs for continuous improvement on the release process
5. Innovate with new and existing tools, processes, practices and industrialize them into a regular delivery cycle agnostic of delivery methodology
6. Identify required resource needs specific to each engagement
7. Work to define and influence the ongoing process for all delivery engagements after uplift.
8. Drive the implementation of highly available and scalable architectures for core components of the Service
9. Champion the importance of Operational Excellence to facilitate improved reliability and service to our Colleagues and Customers (internal & external) and address specific operations needs and concerns.
10. Be responsible for the big picture of how systems are related to each other, they will use a breadth of tools and approaches to solve a broad spectrum of problems

1. 3+ years' extensive experience of DevOps or Cloud Engineer across all Phases of the software lifecycle
2. Experienced in Azure or AWS cloud technologies
3. Experience in building CI/CD pipeline automation, tooling (Github, Jenkins, Artifactory, and Docker) and Compliance as code;
4. Experience with public cloud-native architecture: Hands-on Infrastructure as Code abilities e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Python.
5. Proficient user of JIRA, Confluence, qTEST, Github, Jenkins, Gradle, Docker, Linux (via Command line) & other leading DevOps tools
6. Ability to develop code and work with testers and developers
7. Ability to lead and coach on code reviews between Developers and Quality Engineering.
8. Practical experience of service-orientated Architectures
9. Proven management of multiple interdependent deliveries on time and in budget
10. Experienced and highly capable in continually developing and balancing technical and soft skills with an understanding that making great software requires both problem identification and prevention
11. Strong communication, documentation, organization, and time management skills
