JOB PURPOSE
Lead the design coordination and technical delivery of IT/ICT infrastructure for the airport project, from concept through construction. Own the BIM/CAD coordination process, produce and control IFC and shop drawings, and act as the primary point of contact between the Design Consultant, Installation Contractor(s), and other engineering disciplines. Guide contractors and
designers to ensure ICT systems are designed, coordinated, and installed to standard, on schedule, and free of clashes or costly rework.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Develop and coordinate IT/ICT infrastructure design in BIM (Revit/Navisworks) and CAD, modelling containment, cable routes, rack layouts, and equipment rooms to LOD standards defined in the project BIM Execution Plan
• Lead clash detection and model coordination workshops with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines, resolving conflicts before issue-for-construction
• Own model federation and version control for the ICT scope, ensuring the BIM model remains the single source of coordinated design truth
• Produce and issue Issued-for-Construction (IFC) drawings, cable schedules, rack elevations, and BoQs for ICT systems
• Review, mark up, and approve contractor shop drawings and coordination drawings for compliance with design intent and applicable standards (TIA/ISO, BICSI, IATA/ICAO where applicable)
• Maintain drawing registers, revision control, and issue logs across design development and construction phases
• Act as the primary ICT interface with other disciplines (architectural, structural, MEP, BHS, security, BMS) throughout design development and construction
• Chair or participate in interdisciplinary coordination meetings, resolving space, routing, and interface conflicts before they reach site
• Ensure ICT design integrates seamlessly with building services and other airport operational systems
• Guide and direct contractors on interpretation and implementation of ICT design intent, IFC drawings, and shop drawings on site
• Provide technical direction to the design team on constructability, standards compliance, and value engineering opportunities
• Review and endorse contractor technical submittals, method statements, and material submittals before designer/client approval
• Coordinate integrated systems testing (IST) and commissioning between ICT and interfacing systems (BHS, security, BMS)
• Verify as-built drawings and commissioning documentation accurately reflect final installed conditions
• Produce technical coordination status reports for the ICT Director: BIM/design coordination progress, drawing issue status, submittal turnaround, schedule risk
• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 7 years of experience in ICT infrastructure projects, with meaningful design coordination experience on airport or other large-scale infrastructure projects
• Expert-level proficiency in BIM (Revit, Navisworks) and CAD (AutoCAD) for ICT/telecom systems design and coordination
• Proven track record producing and reviewing IFC drawings, shop drawings, cable schedules, rack elevations, and BoQs
• Strong working knowledge of structured cabling, network infrastructure, and airport-specific ICT systems (SCS, CCTV, access control, PA/VA, FIDS)
• Experience coordinating with architectural, structural, MEP, and other disciplines, and guiding contractors and designers through design and construction
• Familiarity with TIA/ISO/BICSI cabling standards and relevant test/commissioning protocols
• Fluent English is a must
