Senior Laboratory Technician, Textile Testing

Responsibilities
Prepare test swatches in accordance with established testing procedures and method requirements
Conduct laboratory tests accurately and efficiently, following assigned standards and protocols, and record results in a timely manner
Prepare and manage chemicals, reagents, and standard materials required for testing activities
Operate and handle laboratory equipment and testing apparatus in line with work instructions and safety standards
Actively participate in proficiency testing (PT), inter-laboratory comparisons, and correlation programs to support quality assurance initiatives
Maintain laboratory equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance, accuracy, and safety
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the laboratory through proper housekeeping practices
Continuously develop technical knowledge related to testing methods, standards, and assigned tasks
Provide updates and communicate effectively with the reporting supervisor on work progress and technical matters
Support process improvements, including opportunities for automation in testing workflows
Perform other duties as assigned by the Laboratory Supervisor or Laboratory Operation Manager
Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Textile Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field (2-year or 4-year qualification)
At least 2+ years of relevant laboratory experience in textile or softline testing preferred
Basic understanding of textile testing standards and laboratory procedures
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and clients
Demonstrated problem-solving mindset with a proactive and innovative approach
Ability to work independently as well as within a team-oriented environment
Interest in leveraging automation and technology to improve testing efficiency
